This squad should be pissing this league and not throwing points away almost every away game. Its a mental thing, not an ability thing imo.

One intelligent, quick center-half.

If we played 11 Garcia's, they would probably all still be on different wavelengths.

Right on the money.
I read some people say yesterday that "point is good result against very good team like Southampton". Southampton are not very good team, we are. Southampton are well trained team who were tactically ready for us all over the pitch and mentally willing to give it everything and more. We weren't.

Yeah, sure we could do with another CB but our material is BY FAR the best in the league right now.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

During which we've won a league title, FA Cup, finished 2nd and 3rd and made another FA Cup final. That wasn't good enough, so I think what we are looking for is improvement on that. I don't see how you are going to improve on that other than winning the league title. Remember, finishing 2nd and making it to FA Cup final was sackable offense last season.

Oh, and for what it's worth, I myself would be satisfied with similar season but I doubt it's good enough for powers that be.

I'm still seriously unimpressed with our away form and think we need to change tac when it comes to these games.

Looking at the bright side though, we picked up 4 points from our first 6 away games but now we've picked up the same points tally from 2. If we can carry on with that, at 2 points per game, and keep our home form, then we maybe in with a shout come the end of the season.

Exactly.

Everyone hated him but that gets overlooked in the likes of these threads.

Certain posters contribution really soars after an under par performance.

Anyway, back ot...

I'm liking the improvement in our away form. 4 points from the last 6 isn't too shabby at all.

Slight bit more improvement and we should keep our tag as title favourites.

My sincerest apologies, I should have stated that I meant those that had to work with him.

And just in case there's any further confusion, I was using a common figure of speech and it may not have actually been everyone.

Just the majority.

I've not been satisfied for most of the season, and that is still the case now.

For me, it is not good enough to be fantastic in half of our matches, but so poor in the other half, especially when we have such a good squad.

Pellegrini wants to play exciting, attacking football and this has produced some great moments so far this season. But he doesn't appear to have a clue on how to organise us defensively. I keep hoping he's going to learn from his mistakes but he doesn't seem to be doing so, which means he either thinks everything is ok, or he doesn't know how to fix things.

His refusal to play Lescott is costing us games, as the alternatives (Demichelis/Nastasic/Garcia) are clearly not good enough, and make far more mistakes.

Many people on here seem to be banking on Arsenal slipping up to allow us to close the gap with them, but at the moment we keep slipping up more often than them. Pellegrini needs to demonstrate an ability to vary his tactics, and produce a solid defence. I'm just concerned at the moment that he doesn't have this ability. I really hope he proves me wrong as I think we're stuck with him for a while yet, regardless of where we finish this season, as Soriano and Txiki went to such lengths to bring him in.

I loved him. Won us FA Cup and League title. Thought I'd never see that. He will always have special place in my heart and I feel that should be the case with any sensible Blue. Legend.

Definitely.

But I've already explained that I wasn't talking about fans.

He lost the dressing room and the faith of his bosses.

It's pretty obvious he wasn't liked from the inside.

I wasn't even aiming that at you eventhough I quoted. It's just that I see lot of pretty bitter posts about him and can't get my head around it. He is gone now and I think it would be fair to celebrate what he did for us.

I still think comparing him to Pellegrini is pretty pointless. Different animals.

I don't know why any city fan would be bitter about mancini?? That would be really weird.

As for comparing the current manager with the previous one... That's been going on as long as football itself.

It was meant as a bit of a joke mate, lighten up ;-)

I'm still to see evidence of the majority hating him. He was obviously a very tough person to work for and he definately put a few noses out of joint last season, to the point where he looked like he'd actually lost it, but there have been various interviews from players that have a lot of respect for Mancini so I'd suggest it wasn't has widespread as some like to make out.

Either/Or though for me, he won us things and that's what I'll be truly greatful for and one of the reasons why a few have said we don't have to win anything, as long as we perform well.
