In the second interview he looked surprised to hear 4-2 would have got him through.

how about the rest of the quote?

"But I think it was a risk to continue with David Silva, he could not play more than 70 minutes. It was important to be top of group but not the most important thing. We scored two goals and Silva had to come off after 70 minutes."

Fucking anit-City media megaphones you lot. FUCK OFF AND GOODNIGHT

Your anger is just as comical as everyone else's.

Who cares? We won, 15 points bagged and we should fear nobody.

Also, aren't you American? If so, why are you saying good night at half five?

Believe it? I watched Pellegrini say it! I've watched it about five times! It's as clear as fucking day. Absolutely weird that you're choosing to not hear it.

nottsblue wrote:Sorry. Cannot for the life of me work out why, after this result of epic proportions, people are complaining. Yes, IF we had got a 4th we would have won group but come on. Look at the stats. Bayern are immense. They won 7-0 away at weekend. They had won last 11 champs league games. Unbeaten in 30 odd Bundesliga games winning virtually all of them. This is a massive win for us. Sit back, crack open a cold one and bask in the glory. This is what it feels like to be City. Fuckin brilliant tonight

No one is saying it's not a fantastic result mate. It was.
But IF Pellegrini thought we needed two more rather than just one more to go through and therefore did not risk Aguero it has to go down as a bit of a fuck up on his behalf.
It's not the end of the world but IF he didn't know that 4-2 would put us top then questions have to be raised.

Well said.

Amateurish if true he didn't know the score imo but who cares. What ADVT said is exactly how we should look at tonights events. Bring on the round of 16!

Pellegrini also admitted that it was tough to resist the temptation to bring Sergio Aguero on in the dying moments in an attempt to top the group.

After James Milner made it 3-2, just one more City goal would have seen them through to the knockout stages with a draw against one of the group runners-up.

“I was tempted to put Sergio on, that’s why I sent him to warm up but Silva couldn’t play more than 70 minutes and we had decided to bring Alvaro on,” Manuel revealed.

“For our team, it was important to get to the top of the group but it wasn’t the most

Just out of curiosity mate what do you think he is saying ?

I think he is saying i took off Silva on 70 minutes because he was fucked and we need him weekend.

I also think he is saying,i didn't risk Aguero because we needed 2 goals, however had we got another goal i would have sent him on.

No agenda or anything, just translating what i think he was obviously saying.

I'm sure you'll dig a quote up to misunderstand.

Provide the exact wording and not your misunderstanding of it then let's talk. Judging by how wide of the mark people are with the first quote I don't give much hope for you.

I'm almost certain he meant it like this:

'I was tempted to send aguero on (if it meant) we score the fourth goal.' But Silva couldn't last and Negredo was already coming on.

To think that he didn't know the score we needed is to believe that Pellegrini is a joke of a manager. Only a rag loving Sky would interperate his statement to mean that. And to think that so many City fans just roll along with this drivel is absurd.
