Caaragher Souness and Hoddle. Souness is the only one who mentioned just once that it might have been down to Pellegrini's English.

Thanks. Sounness is usually okay with us.

3-1 and 4-2 mean the head to head scores are level and their goal difference was better than ours?

I thought it was 3 goals when I looked a couple of weeks ago, but the radio were saying 4-2 was enough. Can't remember if it went to goal difference, goals scored or head to head with away goals. Wikipedia here I come

Head to head and we'd have beat them on away goals if it was 4-2.

He is the only one on there that has given us any credit for a truly magnificent win.

"if two sides are even on points at the end of the group stage, then their head-to-head record determines who goes through. If that record is even, the side who has scored more goals away from home in the two matches between the two sides in question progresses."

This has really riled me as its totally fucking amateur. It's cost us potentially a million or so in prize money, coefficient points and an easier draw.

don't get sucked in by Sky mate, it was down to how he expressed himself. He knew the score (quite literally)

I'm watching Jazeera Sport and the panel is Trevor Francis, Andy Gray and Ruud Gullit and they are also speculating that, that might the case. One of them (I think Francis) said that Pellers was happy that he beat Guardiola for the first time ever and that was enough for him, which would explain the Rodwell for Dzeko sub !!
No way Pellers didn't know and even if he didn't, he wasn't the only one on the bench ??

At least Souness had a common sense perspective on the interview. Its too easy for the media to jump on people when they are not even speaking their first language.Media are cunts and will take every opportunity to get a dig at us.Enjoy the win ffs

Unfortunately, I think the telling comment from Pellers was "it would be difficult to score twice". This on top of the would have brought Kun on if we had got a fourth comment seems to indicate he thought we needed two more, not one.

Pellers and everybody in and around City knew what was needed, what was possible and what was wishful. We are not amateurs.
We got out of the group, we beat the reigning european champions away, Pellers broke his Guardiola duck and we saved Kun for arsenal. win.win.win.win. Stop putting the negative twist on everything.

Oh, and that charlatan who sold himself as a professional footballer and barely played for 5 years can fuck off too -

Former England striker Michael Owen: How can City win all 3 of their away games in the Champions League yet don't even look like winning away from home in The Premier League?

Now what does that thick cUnt know and what da fukk has it got to do with him anyway?

The big message from this game is that we have the heart to fight back from the the most dire position and the balls to take the game to anyone - now for a solid run of results in the prem and lets shut the peripheral dick-wipes like owen right up.

If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

I'm not - he categorically said we needed two more goals. That's not putting a negative twist on it. It's just a fact...he's fucked up.

Great play, great performance, but fucking schoolboy stuff. I'm allowed to be irked by it as its a lack of preparation.

You're choosing to pick up on a barbed and negative comment from a wanker pundit rather than trust in our manager - all opinions valid and your choice but it would probably be better received on another forum . . like rag cafe for instance. .

Do you really believe that prior to kick-off the whole organisation of Manchester City did not know and understand what result was needed to top the group?...............psssst.....even James Milner understood! It wasn't fucking rocket science.

It wasn't a pundit who said we needed two goals, it was Pellers in his interview.

I cannot believe some of you are complaining about not winning the group. Yes, it would have been great. Yes, we would have gotten a "more" favorable draw (favourable for those you who really care) if we have won. Who cares? We are through. We beat the Champions League Champions on their pitch, against the best team they could field, with a team made up of mostly bench players and a disgraced goalkeeper. If we are meant to win the CL, we will do it beating anyone in front of us. I for one am glad that we don't have to worry about Bayern right away.

It was a shit start, but this game is one to remember. No Yaya. No Aguero. No Kompany. No Nasri. Limited appearance by Negredo and Silva just off of injury. AND Garcia played all 90, Dzeko 80 plus and were their normal uselessness.

CTID! Brilliant day. Bring on Arsenal!
I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I am all out of bubblegum.
