I think it was as an easy mistake to make. I was certain if we won 3-1 we'd still finish second and would need to make it 4-1 (winning by three) in order to go through as winners of the group. But at 4-2 we'd rightfully go through as winners of the group,

If I had spent all game thinking 3-0 or 4-1 I'd quite easily make the same cock up!

Ah well, either way, we spent two years fucking it up, now this year we get 15 points and qualify as highest scorers in our group. I'd call that progress!

Erm just to add to this - with our second eleven - or reserve team!

Or if as it seems it's being misreported the don't see what the problem is. People who are fuming need to give their head a wobbles how you can be annoyed after tonight is a bit beyond me, almost seems like it's moaning for meanings sake.

yes, we just beat the european champions away from home. bellends.

You're right, plus those that can't see the reality of what could have been achieved instead of trying to defend a terrible decision.

I'm absolutley exstatic over tonights reult and nothing will take it away but on a very straight lace sense we totally fucked that ending up.

Position has a huge impact and if we didn't prepare from this point of view, I don't know what to say.

Do you?

Edit: Just seen your other comments so before you get all 'Chuck Norris' on my ass, I don't blame Pellers, he's in the heat of the game, I put this down to those around him.

I can't believe I have to say that but seems the protectionism of our manager is going a bit far.

Look were all very happy about the result and finally qualified for the last 16, but the manager should be more clear in his interviews...I was confused about what he was saying before Sky even brought it up in the studio.

Winning a game and how we played and what a comeback ... no one is fucking disagreeing with that ... and not fucking knowing such a. Basic thing as to what you need to top the group is a fucking totally different thing ...

I am over the moon at how we came back from 2-0 down to win 3-2 at their own fucking back yard ...

But I am also fuming, yes fuming beyond belief that we (the team mgmt) didn't know the exact math for the group placements tonight ...

What's one got to do with the other?

In the interview he talked to the point where we were losing 2-1.

Then the interviewer asks if he was tempted to bring on Aguero (with the score at 2-3).

He says that he was tempted to bring on Aguero if it meant that we would score the 4th goal. Pellegrini then added that to get the two more goals (that we scored after half time) was difficult.

He just picked up where he was talking from before, rather than at the point that the interviewer jumped to. Normal cross language mistake.

But you lot keep eating up the SHIT that sky produce. Unbelievable

Agree. The interviewer actually mentions bringing Aguero on and actually says another goal would have won the group, pretty sure Pellegrini would have picked up on that anyway. Its just a translation issue and Sky wanting to be knobs.
