This. It's not like we sat back without Aguero on the pitch for those last 15.

Fuck them all, we are not scared of anyone.!!

...you forget "them" . "They" (scraped through) to top their group - we finished second in ours ; now what we need is a kind draw and a visit to our bunnies up the road at the chamber of nightmares, to pile on more pain and humiliation. I had a (wet) dream about this about three weeks ago ; 1-2 to us after "another insipid united performance" as the commentator put it. Sorry, can't tell you the scorers.

(. . . Mustn't overdo it though - don't want to jeopardise Agent Moyes' fine work this early into his mission. )

We can't play teams from our own country in the next round.

Pity.

Obviously my dream takes place in the quarters , then

Mountain out of a molehill.

There's no guarantee that we would have scored with Aguero on. In fact, if we went gung ho, Bayern could have caught us on the break and the game would've ended 3-3. It's not like they wouldn't be capable.

Let's not be greedy here, we were 2-0 down after 12 minutes with a very understrength team in the backyard of the reigning European Champions. I'll take the 3-2 and celebrate it for the magnificent achievement that it is.

The media have the knives out, all except Tony Barrett who is more concerned with the statement winning there makes. I already called Barney Ronay on his Guardian headline for focusing on the 'blunder', and Rafa Honigstein is also belittling us.

Fuck them tbh.

The way I am looking at this, is that in order to win the Champions League, you have to beat the best of the best.

I relish the chance to get Real Madrid or Barca!! Neither are invincible. Plus, if we beat them now, we would have more of a chance of getting an 'easier' team in the next round.

Nobody in the world will want to come and face us at the Etihad, our form at home is highly impressive and everyone in Europe will know this.

I realise that there seems to have been a massive cock up, but I am ecstatic over the win!
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

I couldn't care less what the media say or think of us, we just beat Bayern from 2-0 down, at theirs, with our B team. That must give us real belief whoever we play next. Personally, I'd love Barca, just so I can see Messi play in the flesh.

However, not topping the group will give us a slightly harder draw in the next round and also means we'll be away from home in the second leg. After last night, that might not mean much, but it would have been nice to know that whatever the result in the first leg, they had to come to the Etihad, which no one will want to do.

Before the game, I gave us little chance of getting a table topping result and was happy with the team he picked, with an eye on Saturday. Getting so close and not managing to get the required result is disappointing, but not going for it as we didn't realise it was all we needed is, well, Typical City.

Still, we wait for Monday's draw to find out who we'll beat in the next round. But that game is month's away and we need to concentrate on being top of the league by the time that game comes. Bring on Arsenal

Common sense here....I agree with this 100%. Last night was a fantastic achievement, but lets move to Saturdays game

Bothered!

I am glad we didn't bring Kun on to pull a hamstring in the last 15 minutes or to mess up the plan and let Bayern get an equaliser.Fantastic result.

Obviously a stupid error by management and back room staff. However i dont care to quite frank.

The media are making out that we WOULD of scored had aguero come on. Its bullshit, not guarentee of that at all. We just beat bayern away and are in the knockout stages. I dont care who we get, we will give any of them a tough game.

Fuck the media.

Bringing on Rodwell was a good idea as we needed the 5 in midfield to keep the ball and maybe give the beast another chancdm to score. I'm with you on this one, i'm glad Kun was rested.

We have just beaten the European champions and favourites for this years trophy away from home and all I wake up to is a torrent of negativity towards pellers apparent points cock up. The fact is if we are going to win the champions league we are going to have to beat teams like real, barca, psg, bayern etc, and multiple times. We shouldn't be scared of who we face in the the next round, we need to take the confidence of this amazing win on and give it our all to whoever we have to play. We have proved we can beat some incredibly strong teams, and I am extremely proud of the result last night and am confident of us going up against anyone, we are man city not man united, we can beat bayern away from home. I just think it's sickening that all people are talking about is the points cock up and how much of an idiot pellers is, it takes the piss out of this outstanding victory. That's the media for you I guess. Makes me laugh how everyone was going crazy when rags beat leverkusen, what would it have been like of they had the result we did last night against a vastly superior team? They wouldn't the fact is they would have been slaughtered last night. God I hate those rag loving media twats. Chins up blues ignore the wrongly directed negativity, great result making history here lets take the attack to whoever is unlucky enough to stand in our way.

We kind of did stop, we had a free kick with about 30secs on the clock at the end and hart laboured up and took 30seconds to hit it and the whistle blew, if we had of known another goal would get us top he would of pegged it out and lumped in the box.

Its clear as day no one knew we would top group with a 4.2 win, i thought it watching the game before his interview but lets not distract from a great result all round.

On a side note, Shaqiri held the ball in the corner at one stage, did it not twig with someone as to why he might do this when they are 3.2 down, Bayern clearly knew what would happen if they lost 4.2

Anyway, this is city, this is what we do, this is why we love them and knowing city we prob win the competition by beating barca next and R.Madrid after that!
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A lot of people have said this but why would it have mattered if they equalised? It would have changed nothing whereas one more goal for us would have changed a lot.

It would have totally deflated the feel good factor we got from winning and the confidence for the next game.

This is not aimed at the current poster, but I am a bit surprised at the number who are saying we should risk Kun when more than half before the game wanted to play the kids!

I suppose events change perceptions.

It would have changed everything from a psychological point of view. Don't underestimate what that win will do for these players. You need only listen to Silva's words following what happened at the Bernabéu last season to realise how much of an impact that defeat had on the mindset of our squad, this victory will do the opposite.
