I constantly criticise Garcia and hate seeing him on the teamsheet ( I go into a bit of a melt down).

I think his only problem is his game is not suited to the premier league or the tempo we want to play. I'd imagine he'd shine in Spain or Italy as he did in Portugal. He just seems a yard to slow for the Prem and doesn't come across as if he'd like to 'rough' it.

I also think he was shat on by Pellegrini by being played at CB when even Stevie Wonder could see he was hopelessly out of his depth - no wonder his confidence looks shot.

IMO we should move him on (for the good of the club and his career) and I'd wish him well.

Garcia is a solid squad player.Perhaps elsewhere , where the demands are not as high, he would be a regular. Even in the PL. Let's face it Fellaini has held a regular starter spot at Everton and now the rags and he's as slow as a carthorse.

We indeed have one of the best group of players in the world. Among them Garcia and imo to little bit lesser extent Demichelis stick out like a sore thumb. Would they be good enough Sunderland or Leeds. Yeah, sure they would. Would they be good enough for Bayern, Real, City or Barcelona? Nope.

Then why not write "he's not good enough" rather than "he shit" or similar.

I am of the opinion that Garcia is not good enough to be a regular Manchester City player.

But, Pellers keeps picking him. Spain keep selecting him. He must do something we're not aware of. I'd love to know what it is.

Totally agree with Florida Blue. I've got an Everton mate and he raves about the control and impact Barry has had. Would prefer him over Garcia any day. As for Kolo then I don't know how much of him moving was to get more first team starts. Ironically he would have had lots if he stayed.

I wrote pretty much the same in the Garcia thread a week or two back, but mentioned Italy instead of Spain:

I'm not a Garcia fan - far from - but I think he's very well suited for Seria A. There's no doubt that the pace is slower and that you're allowed more time on the ball, and that's where Garcia falls short. He's no Pirlo, but the boy can pass if he gets the time to look up and find his target. The comments regarding Barry are fair as well. Like Garcia, he's far from being a speed demon, but Barry can still cope with the pace, and doesn't need that extra half second on the ball. He mostly knows what he's gonna do before he's even received the ball, whereas Garcia needs to control the ball, look up, and then decide the next course of action. It just doesn't work in England (in his position).

Barry's positional sense means his pace rarely gets exposed. Garcia doesn't have that. Either the pace of the premier league or the system we play doesn't suit him. It's made worse though in that Barry could have been doing that role, as he is for Everton, so some of the stick will be frustration at what we're missing.

I was hoping with a pre-season behind him, Garcia would look much better this year, but generally it's not happening. Considering Rodwell's injury record, it's worrying that Garcia could be the long term midfielder if anything happened to Fernandinho. We'd just have to hope that a run in the side would bring out the best in him

Make no mistake, i wish we hadn't let Barry go too, but we have and must live with it. Again , i would expect Garcia to be a bench warmer with Gareth starting.

Of course there's no Hughes, Corradi or Samaras to throw things at these days, so we're a bit short of people to slag off.

But maybe we should take a seasonal break from all the criticism for Demichelis and Garcia, much of it ill-informed or 'witch-hunt' like in my opinion.

These 2 players have just played well in a team which has deservedly won in Munich without the normal spine of it's team.

Whilst Lescott had a shaky start afterwards he did OK. However he didn't come up to the Beckenbauer-standard some people have made him out to be whilst criticising Demichelis. But of course whilst he was in the team he was usually the scapegoat!

Sorry pal but Demichelis and Garcia are both really wank . The result in Munich doesnt suddenly make them class players we have far better players in our squad . People can talk these two players up on an internet forum if they like its there opinion but at the end of the day when you go to a game and watch them both live they are crap . Being successfull though means the manager has to utilise the whole squad through the season so players even as bad as the two mentioned have a job to do . The rags used to have O`Shea in this role getting loads of abuse and look what he has won !

Richards has been quality for us but the past two seasons he's been plagued by injury.To be fair i doubt he has even got close to proper match fitness since the title winning season when he played regularly.Im guilty of having a go at Garcia, Dzeko and Kolarov none of them have ever been consistently good players for us.Garcia is the main one for me.He can pass a ball fairly well but his lack of pace leaves him exposed time and time again it's painful at this stage and he's not suddenly going to get any quicker.

Would make sense if Garcia wasn't here performing at an even lower level.

The spin we come up with to justify stuff baffles me. Same with Garcia playing for Spain. I don't care if he's there captain and wins the golden boot at the wc, he's crap at city.

Fernandinho effectively now sits in the Barry role, although he still doesn't do the defensive bits as well at the moment. I don't think Barry would have made us any worse and there have been games where he and Fernandinho could have played together, providing extra protection and freeing Yaya.
