Interesting, why do you think that Doug?
Based a bit on the Bayern games.Bayern ripped us apart at home where we went into the game full of confidence. They passed us to death and Barca are capable of the same.I have no doubt we will approach the home game the same way.Away from home with only 1 up top if we can hold their attack we can break on them and score a la Bayern beating them last season. They are not what they were.

Aye good logic. Personally I think we will have learnt to be cautious after the home Bayern game. I just hope we dont do another Arsenal and try the outscoring tactic.

Outscoring is the plan for every team. Otherwise you lose or draw at best.
Ted Hughes wrote:I don't think we are capable of defending v Barca. We can graft as a whole team & press them, as we did at times v Bayern, but if we try to sit back & take pressure like Bob tried to do in Madrid, they will just flick their way through us, as Arsenal did or score from a free kick due to diving around the box.
I recon their defence is actually much much worse than ours & if we have the bottle to play past their initial pressing, we can cause them a whole world of trouble. Plus we have something they don't; a centre forward.
The strikers have to run like midfielders in this game or we have to play one up front. Workrate is absolutely essential.

Beefymcfc wrote:This maybe the plum draw but I do wish it wasn't and we got somebody slightly easier. I have no doubt we can give them a game but as we've seen with Arsenal and Chelsea in the past, if it looks like there's a chance Barca ain't going through then there will be safeguards in place to ensure they get calls.
That Van Pussy sending off and Drogba's rant on TV are etched in my memory whilst most others just brushed it under the carpet because their new boyhood team were the ones going through.
Txiki looked decidedly uncomfortable when the draw came out and I don't believe it was about the football, it was about the politics behind the scenes.
