January Sales

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Talk of a left winger is silly considering what we have. Yes it would be nice to have the option to have a left/right wing combo when needed, but in reality they'd end up sharing a peripheral role and both pissed off. Anyone happy to take that probably isn't good enough for why we'd want them.

A defender should be our only business, unless we can sell Garcia and recall Barry.

which of his many appearances led you to that conclusion?

I meant he cant be relied on because he is always injured. simple really.

so him and Vinnie out then. Oh and Jovetic

We have cover from Kompany, it may not be brilliant but we have cover. What do you suggest we do if god forbid Zaba gets injured while Micah is on yet another lay off?

Pogba. Can rotate in with Yaya and Fernandhino, keeping them fresh. Better option than Rodwell or Garcia.
Berbatov wins golden boot, spends following season on the bench while his team loses title on goal difference. Well played, Fergie.

OK, we could try making do with three at the back.

That might be fun.

i could see garcia and lescott being off. I wouldn't agree with Lescott going, but it doesn't seem like we're offering him a new deal (unless I missed it), so we'll have to get rid before it runs down totally.

in both cases, i'd hope we could get in a young replacement ... someone mentioned pogba, i think that'd be amazing, but i'd also take a shot at matuidi, who I also think does a good job. Dunno who we'd get in at defense, but I like the look of Zouma, although he's in a bit of bother for that hard tackle a while back (total overreaction to it, i think). 2 vets and 2 youth in CM and D.

careful, ODub will be onto you

chance to see whether you're right, but with Aguero out, we could have done with a fit Jovetic too.
I just don't think you dump your longest serving player due to fitness concerns (think about our history, it's not Typical at all)

I doubt if Barry would come back at the moment. He's getting plenty of game time at scouse 2 and there's a world cup place to play for. If he came back he'd probably be like for like with Garcia so a bit part player. Leave him where he is this season and get him back to replace Garcia in the summer.

I'm really worried about the potential duration of Aguero's injury and the effect it might have upon the team.

I wish we could pick up someone who, though not replacing Sergio, would complement him and Negredo even when our little Argentinian was fully recovered.

I'm not sure who I'd like to see come in though, other than Cavani (which is just a pointless daydream).

Ramos is a shout he is on 18 red cards at RM he has an issue on what he is being paid compared to Trany and Spok, Summer more likely.

I agree. Had there not been a World Cup on the horizon he probably wouldn't have minded filling Garcia's boots but he needs the game time to force himself back into the reckoning. It's evident that he still has something to offer. I hope he makes the squad and would love to have him back but like you I can't see it happening.
