I have no doubt we can give them a game but as we've seen with Arsenal and Chelsea in the past, if it looks like there's a chance Barca ain't going through then there will be safeguards in place to ensure they get calls.

That Van Pussy sending off and Drogba's rant on TV are etched in my memory whilst most others just brushed it under the carpet because their new boyhood team were the ones going through.

Txiki looked decidedly uncomfortable when the draw came out and I don't believe it was about the football, it was about the politics behind the scenes.

Who would you say is easier out of the other teams we could have got?

I'd say most of them when it comes to UEFA.

Well chuffed with this, we could do them at ours and likely get 90 mins of breasting at there's but we can hold on, maybe grab one on the counter.

We play at home so we'll know what we need to do at theirs.

Great draw. We are very capable of getting through. A tough draw but so be it. We are one of the big boys now and have to play the big boys. Lets let Barca worry about coming to the Etihad before we worry about the Nou Camp. We win 3-0 and the 2nd leg is a very different game. Yes we may go out and if we do we will hopefully take it on the chin, learn from it and come back stronger next time around. What a time to be a City fan. Lovin it

First game between two home ties, Sunderland and stoke. Second between one home and one away, villa then hull.

Derby sandwiched between. Not the worst draw.

Found this circulating in the Barca thread, something about they inventing this :

This is interesting to watch, doesn't tell the complete story and it is of a match we lost badly.

Also our team is more or less very organized and the amount of running done by our midfield and defense is just wow.

We got the slight edge in midfield in latest game because of playing single striker, once we started dominating even 2 strikers worked out.

I think that was a fluke game. Really the first time we had been tested all year. We were used to having the ball all the time before hand. Got down early and bayren just played keep away to piss us off. Our players didn't want to chase the ball. We do a much better job now at absorbing pressure and spring back in attack now. Barca is a long way off. We'll evolve even more.

I'd like to see us test out a legit 5 man midfield for a serious match or two before this tie.

Agreed. With Aguero out for a month now, we'll get that opportunity.

I agree, as I said in anouther thread we have the ample talent to sit behined Negrado and still pose a formidable threat going forward. Silva, Nasri, Navas even Milner and Yaya from deeper or wide positions and not forgetting Ferdi.

Certainly an option, even with Dzeko up front.
