Kompany, Jovetic and Richards may disagree.

I think other teams do have this, Gerrard (twice a season), Sturridge, Van Pussy, Vidic all out this week off the top if my head. We just don't notice as much jf they are not ours!

Every team gets it. We just notice more when its our own.

Certain players are just injury prone too. Richards alway has been, as has Rodwell and Jovetic has had periods of injury in his career too. Sadly as has Kompany. The Silva, Zaba and Aguero things are just irritating coincidences - just like Gerrard and Sturridge for the scousers.

There's no point presuming it's anything sinister or a lack of prep. Most likely just sheer bad luck.

Zabba is made of glass, he always has been. I remember one time he was recovering from a broken nose and his nose just bust open at the mere touch of a football boot slammed in his face... Fucking pussy.

Stuart Brennan ‏@StuBrennanMEN now

Jovetic fell ill an hour before game and City had no other outfield players to put on bench

So when he's fit, he's ill. He could leave with the same number of minutes played as Berti.

A substitute substitute, where would it end?

Yes. This is an extremely physical sport, and what are you going to injure? Muscles, ligaments, tendons, bones.

Pretty easy to understand..."why" i think.

Wow, write it down, it finally happened... Doom and I agree on something...

We play a small squad. We have had a lot of injuries as it is, so players are playing more. The injury prone ones are staying that way, and the ones that we play the most are getting hurt at a quick pace. Either more rotation or we deal with wear injuries. Just because you pull your hamstring or calf, that doesn't mean that is the real issue, it is just where the body gave way. It is down to bad timing.

It's pretty common to take a match day squad for this very reason. It's really, really common. Baffled that we didn't to be honest. Players get injured in warm ups quite frequently and you rarely ever see a team down in numbers on the bench cos someone just steps in who otherwise would have been sat in the stands.

We're playing a small squad? Does that mean we aren't trusting in the so-called quality players that we have?

At the start of the season I thought we had the best squad in the league, many agreed. Why is it now that I'm seeing more and more posts that we don't?

I still think we have the best squad, closely followed by Chelsea, and if utilised correctly (as you've mentioned) could go onto major honours.

Fair enough. If you say so.

Then maybe pellers just decided that there was no point in choosing a replacement as there was no fucking chance they'd see any game time anyway.

well ... zabba hasn't really had a rest has he, as micah hasn't been fit all season ... and surprise! Injured again. Zabba has been overworked, no doubt ... non of us know if it's a case of over training, though you're all very eager to jump on pelligrini for that. Easy one, I suppose, as it's totally unverifiable to us.

An argument can be made for whether or not zabba should have been picked, but I think we're out to win these domestic cups, and being in the quarterfinal, I can understand the reasoning behind fielding him. Also giving milner a run at left wing, where he looked good. Boyata handled his appearance well, which is good because we might be seeing him there for the next couple of weeks.

to add, Micah's fitness is not down to training. He's had these injury issues over 3 different managers now, all with different methods. Aguero is no stranger to a muscle pull, and I don't think Rodwell's issues can be put on anyone, just natural.

Who mentioned Pellers? That's not his job mate, we have a full section that relays info to him which must've said that he was fine.

Micah has been out which has left us with one recognised LB, and a bloody decent one at that. Maybe, and only a suggestion, we should've been looking at somebody else to stand-in?

I had no problem with Zab's playing tonight, check what I've written, and apportion no blame to Pellers so stop getting so fluffy.
