Zabba injury update

Postby Spurge » Tue Dec 17, 2013 11:16 pm

Jack Rodwell interview after the game described Zabbas injury as a 'niggle'

Whilst Pellers said post match

“It’s a pity for Pablo because he felt a little problem in his hamstring and we’ll see tomorrow how damaging it is,”

Positive initial vibes - but all will be clearer tomorrow

Yeah, seeing it on the highlights it seems like he may have felt it before it went altogether but Zabbas so tough he'd play on with a break!

Hope it is only goingg ti be a short term thing!

Milners probably not a bad shout. Always gives 100%. Can tackle and get forward. Be concerned of who's covering him in that instance but think he could stand in

who should he have played? Boyata? Then there would be half of this board complaining and saying he should be taking the competition seriously. Hindsight is a wonderful thing & both Silva and Kompany came through unscathed and are probably ahead of Zabba in the pre-match 'they shouldn't face Leicester' debate.

Think he'll go with Clichy at right back.

I don't mind the club using it for a bit of mind games if it's not too serious. Generate a bit of a 'crisis down the right side' ahead of the game then have Zabs stroll out ready for the kickoff.

Correct. And if Richards was fit he probably would have started.

Even if it is only a twinge he can't play at Fulham for risk of tearing the muscle completely. We will have to make do and mend for Saturday's game and hope he is fully fit for the scouse game.

I dont think many people at all on this board would have complained had Boyata started. He is a capable player and We should be well capable of beating a team like Leicester withot some of our major players.

Glad we won but gutted about his injury. He is so important for that Liverpool game.

An injury can happen at any time so to lambast the manager for taking the competition seriously is sheer folly.

We are now in the last 4 of a Comp we can win, and Im glad Pellegrini picked a strong team to pay respect to the competition and the opponent.

On the right back situation, it has to be either Clichy or Milner on Saturday and then see how that goes. Then take stock against Liverpool. Hamstrings are notoriously tricky injuries to deal with and Id be amazed if Zabba was back before mid-Jan. If he and Micah are out for 4 weeks or more, then a new right back may need to be recruited pretty swiftly.

City will be working on lots of formations even 3 at the back with Milner as a great option.

Glichy Komps Lesscot De Mic Milner Boyata is not the worst choices Nasty will be back soon, plus with our MF we will starve Suarez of any decent ball on Boxing Day when Zabba might even be recovered. Players would have been rotated no matter what.

I'd throw Milner in there against Fulham. He'll play anywhere and can defend as well as get forward. His workrate is comparable to Zabba and the form he's in deserves a place in the starting lineup.

No brainer for me.

Razak's back from loan in a couple of weeks.

What about Facey, any chance he'd be ready for a go at senior football?
