By the time these guys are 21, it's made up that they will be global superstars and saviors of the national team, each one of them. Walcott, Wilshire, Hart ... they're told they've already made it by everyone around them from their first appearance. They come out of the gate on fire, have some spectacular performances, and then as the energy of youth wears down ... they don't have the fire necessary to take their game to the next level. Tale as old as time.
Agree, Wegner did nothing wrong. They just failed to step up to the next level. Henry was moved from winger to striker and became a world beater. The guys quoted above were just blown out of proportion and had their weaknesses glossed over after a few good games (much like that scum youngster now) without showing sustained, consistent play over a whole season at the top level.

They aren't calling him the savior just yet ... like calling walcott up to the full squad when he was how old? ridiculous.
He's still in that phase were he's fired up every single minute on the pitch ... and it's up to him if he'll make it or not ... just like all the others. If he keeps the fire, I think he can be successful, if not, he'll be another walcott, lennon, etc ... I think it also works for him that he is no where near the focus of the team. It'll be some time before he is expected to save the team or blamed for when they lose.

I disagree, Henry is one example, and maybe Anelka too but Wenger tried to replicate what he did with Henry on Walcott who was a promising center forward but Wenger wanted a pacy winger - like trying to force a lefty to write right handed if the kid didnt have it in his locker already.
The amount of press the lads get would have some influence true, Joe Harts form has dropped and although the added attention and media profile may have turned his head Its bollox to blame media for that, it's dropped due to footballing reasons, you can tell by his reactions when he does drop clangers - he will improve himself again. There is press in other countries too, do they not rate thier young players early which turn out to be great players?
At the end of the day we're masters of ourselves and, although Walcott has struggled, he's tried to overcome the fact he been played out of his natural position since he got to Arse and in his defence he hasnt been a complete wanker over it - in fact he's tried to move away from being a winger (He cant cross - a fact any man and a dog could see but Wenger wanted a winger and he's renowned to be stubourn).
Take Bale as an example, left back who was strugling at left back at Spurs, was tried as a left winger and got better there and was started to be given a more midfield role. Not brought in young and pushed into a position alien to him from the start.
Wiltshire is maybe a bad egg in all this - certainly seems to be going down the Ronney road with less skill and drive, and perhaps he would have dropped off anyway but the amount of injuries that players seem to pick up at the Arse is also concerning, worse than ours I think.

Anyone complaining about or acting offended by Wilshere's middle finger is a soft bastard. Obviously there's a limit to what's acceptable (effing and blinding down a live TV camera, for instance, is not), but you should never dish out abuse if you won't accept the returns.
