No-one is expecting clubs like palace and hull to be throwing money about, so why should cardiff not be expected to live within the means the club generates? He's possibly trying to protect the club from FFP that everyone seems to think is a great idea

Of course the owner has the right to do has he wants, he's the owner, but why go about things in such a manner?
Tan held the club to ransom by offering them gifts to change their colours, colours they have worn for over 100 years. I'm sure we'd all have something to say about that if it was us. Then the sacking of the head scout and replacing him with some completely unknown who was on work experience, obviously, as you say, all to do with spending money. But does the head scout sign the cheques, has he the authority to spend? I think not.
And money wise, Cardiff spent around 30 million in the close season, which is nothing in the big scheme of things. The players he has bought, or at least the ones that cost a few quid, are playing near week in/week out and are keeping them way above the relegation places; they're holding their own as they say. How much is 30 million compared to the riches of staying in the PL?
Then to be told, if the reports are true, that he has a choice of resigning or being sacked by way of e-mail must be a real blow for the fans and players. Where does that leave them and how do the players react, especially with somebody like Bellamy in the dressing room.
Like you say, it's his choice to do what he wants with the club, he already is, but the way he's going around it is ridiculous. He's only in it for the money and has totally disregarded the fans, the players and the media. He's making it look like he has no respect for their history and I wouldn't be surprised to see that his plan was to bring in some ex-Dipper/Rag/Arsenal player as manager, to go with his newfound colours. It looks like it's all about the asian/far east market for him and those down in Wales can suck his pork balls.
On the other side, I think Mackay has probably gained too much power with the fans and players, and is a favourite in the media. Tan probably wanted him out and his own guy in at the start of the season and the actions suggest that he would've preferred for Mackay to walk rather than be pushed, making Tan look like a twat in the media. Mackay has now told of his correspondence which will infuriate Tan even more and probably goes to prove that Mackay was using every means to keep control of the club rather than the owner having a say - he's using the popular opinion to keep his position.
Just glad that he's not our owner, even Thaksin was less of a twat than him, and that it doesn't bring to much on the very different Sheikh mansour. I only say that because whenever a foreign owner is mentioned in a bad light, it's always us that are mentioned 1st, regardless of what he has actually done for us. Forget about the Glazers and their debt, forget about the Hull Tigers of this world, it's always Man City who are brought up and never the real protagonists in all this.

This is the type of thing you'd think shinawatra would pull too (well he pretty much did with Sven but not this comical)
How the hell do these people make it in life!

If I was loaded beyond imagination, I would tempt the rags with an offer of several billion, to play in blue.
Just to watch them tear each other apart.

True.
The situation is that Tan has ran his businesses like a dictatorship and been really successful. Joe Public doesn't really care how Toto Sports is run but when he interferes in football it becomes news. In a way, and I don't want to sound like I'm defending him, he's just doing what he does best.
It's been said a zillion times before but the only way fans can vote against this regime is with their feet. Short term revenue loss may well save the club from a worse future.
That said it won't happen will it? Owners are already changing the club colours, the club name and,as was the case with Wimbledon, the location. People fucking still lap it up.
The future will consist of more of the same but on larger scales.
patrickblue wrote:It seems that Malky Mackay is taking the team to play the dippers. So what happens if they pull off a win a Anfield, Tan's going to find it difficult (or so you would imagine) to get rid of him under those circumstances.
AG7 wrote: I don't give a shit frankly to what Tan does or doesn't do ... as long as Malky can nick a win (or even a draw) at Anfield ... could see us sitting at top this weekend ;)
