Good and needed win. Away form sorted now folks?

Not by any stretch of the imagination. If we concede 2 to Fulham, then we're still far way from sorting it out. It's the defence problem whether home or away that needs to be sorted out.

Good come back and win today. The lads showed some strength and we were saved by Jesus. We can all now have a really Merry Christmas !

It's remarkable as is Vinny's effort for opposite reasons.

Had we lost today, I would be close to writing us off for the title, as I recon we would have lost v Liverpool too & found ourselves in even an injury hit, miserable Christmas period . The Count lloked like he was going to cry when Kompany scoreed that o.g.

The Count's substitutions & change of positions worked superbly though, & whilst I blame him for risking Zabba, I think he pulled it out of the bag today, as did the players.

even if we do lose to the scousers now, we will just fight back & stick with it I recon.

Today was a big win.

Fair points. A sloppy win against a poor team. My point is basically that we still won and we are going to have problems on the road as most teams do you would think, but to me the issue is mostly complacency against poorer teams.

The result in the end is what we needed so i will take it and i believe we will get better as the season goes on. The game should have never been a draw as we surely were the better team and that komps goal was freakin unbelievably bizzare.

Also we are going to give away goals with our approach and issues with inconsistency in defence i.e. the constant change in players.

My issue is if Pellers doesn't start playing four five fucking one away from home, I may have to fly to England to kick him in the nuts repeatedly until he gets the message.

after seeing a replay of their first goal Yaya was completely at fault.

yes, Clichy slipped on a rain-sogged pitch but there's nothing he could do about that. but Kieran Richardson began at left back and ran all the way forward and crossed in front of Yaya in the middle. Yaya shouldve seen it and followed the run; he did, but way way too late and he looked like he was half-assing it too.

What Vince did was unforgiveable. Going forward into midfield chasing lost causes and the screwing up like that instead of trapping the ball. ! Very, very poor.

Good post Ted...Totally agree with you there...We cannot afford to throw any away games due to silly errors having lost too many on the road as it is...I thought we had messed this one up at 2-2 but we showed great character to push on and get 2 more.. Massive 3 points...Cheshire cat grins all round :-)

Couldn't agree more! Pellers recognising our weakness and making the changes needed and the team keeping at it and battling, not dropping their heads.

All in all an excellent result!

Agree.

It's NOT our style of play which is causing us to concede goals, it's piss poor defending collectively & individually.

We will always be vulnerable to letting in goals due to our attacking style, but these goals, like most we are conceding, are not down to lack of bodies or because of tactics, they are just shit. One player compounding the mistake of another rather than covering it

Demichelis chasing after clichy for the 1st, rather than going to the penalty area, was a prime example; shocking and amateurish.

If he actually plugged his brain in, I think he could be great.

Imho this way we are playing will make us conceide goals.

But imho, today we didn`t get equalised because of our defensive way, but becaus we`ve got complacent. Our attitude from the first minute of the second half was shite, but Pellers got it right with our substitutes. Yeah, a lot of players performed very poor, but the count changed when we needed and we performed.

We can only learn from this, if we will start Clichy as a right back with scouse, Suarez and Coutinho will murder us.

I liked Demichelis' ASSIST for Vinnie's goal though.

What the fuck are you talking about? Using the word "assist" in football isn't strange or unusual, its a perfectly fine normal term to use.

Anyway I'm hopeful we learned some lessons and won't have Clichy in at right back against Liverpool. Although I'm still somehow more confident about that game than I was for this one.

I wouldn't have been writing off our title chances had we lost or drew today, but it would have been another dent for sure. Away problems still persist but hopefully the win will give them some more confidence.
