Got to agree. We can't afford to give him a sniff next week.

Our defenders can't afford to lose concentration for a single moment next week. I think it will be a great game and I have to say I am looking forward to see Suarez play, just hope we win anyway!

To be fair Coutinho looks a right prospect as does Sterling.

Imo Sterling hasn't done anything to suggest he will be any better than Aaron Lennon. exciting prospect but at the moment thats it

It's Liverpool though.

They have had a cheat's charter all the years I've been watching football. Imo, they are way ahead of the rags in that respect, for every dodgy decision we have suffered v the rags, there have been 4 in favour of that lot.

When Suarez is involved Liverpool look really good, when he isn't, they are Aston Villa.

Sorry can't agree with that. Particularly when Liverpool were starting their implosion a few years back, they were garbage but had shocking bad luck too. It was hilarious.

Liverpool started the season well even without Suarez, although hes moving them up another level now for sure.

"I do not think about the title. I still believe it is for Manchester City to lose."

- Brendan Rodgers.

I can't remember the manager of a team top of the PL right before christmas saying something like that before. I wonder if he truly thinks it is or is trying to put more pressure on for our game coming up. Kinda strange.

Angling for transfer funds or starting early on Mancini's theme at the end if our title season?

Attempting to take pressure off ahead of Boxing Day.

Proof of how thick Rogers must be, obviously am attempt to put pressure on us but how the hell can it be ours to lose when:

A - we're not the fucking holders
B - we're not top of the table and haven't been.

Amateurish attempt at best!

And yet we're the bookies favourite and virtually every pundit is still sticking with us to win it. It's almost as if everyone thinks we have the best team.

Only a thick manager would come out at any stage of the season and say they expected to win something. Why put expectation and pressure on yourself?

His comment more than post-cardiff-match was a pre-city-match comment ... trying to play mind games I guess ... if not directly with Pelligrini but with media and his own players trying to lower expectations etc.

Frankly their expectation before the season started was probably a top 6 finish realistically and hoping for a top 4 ... now they find themselves top end of the table at Christmas so they are not sure if their expectations are still top 4 or can they start dreaming of of actually winning the league ... their fans obviously have jumped on that bandwagon so Brandon is I guess trying to keep that end calm and in check before our game ... where he knows every big boy has come to Etihad and got properly spanked ...
