I don't care , i don't use strange language when talking about Baseball, ice hockey or American football.

It's a brilliant outside of the foot PASS , firstly and secondly ,perhaps an assist. What ever that means.

Does that mean Milner scored a shot and not a goal?

I am so happy to see you guys fighting over Pass/Assist, its all because we won otherwise who knows what others will be fighting over :)

I believe if a pass leads to goal its an assist, simple aye

No, it means his shot became a goal. What is difficult about that ?

Thanks for the assist.

What the fuck are you talking about? Using the word "assist" in football isn't strange or unusual, its a perfectly fine normal term to use.

Anyway I'm hopeful we learned some lessons and won't have Clichy in at right back against Liverpool. Although I'm still somehow more confident about that game than I was for this one.

I wouldn't have been writing off our title chances had we lost or drew today, but it would have been another dent for sure. Away problems still persist but hopefully the win will give them some more confidence.

It's all about the way you look at it. I see a great pass, you see an assist.

In a Sunday newspaper ,if a reporter describes Negrado as making an assist. It tells you nothing. It is neutral , antiseptic.

If a reporter tells you that Negredo made a deft pass , on the right wing with the outside of his left foot into the path of the oncoming Milner , who stroked the ball first time into the back of the net.You get some idea of the difficulty, the finesse and beauty of that fine movement.

Wax lyrical , moi ?

Yeah, a lot of players performed very poor, but the count changed when we needed and we performed. We can only learn from this, if we will start Clichy as a right back with scouse, Suarez and Coutinho will murder us.
Who do we play at right back instead of Clichy? I don't think Richards or Zaba will be back for a couple of weeks.

No more difficult than understanding that Negger's pass became an assist once Milner scored from it.

Superjaw can do that very easy. Even Navas.

You can`t use a left foot player on the side, he will be all over the place like Gael was today. Taarabt who is a well known lazy ass, took a piss on him today, starting with Fulham`s first goal.

Well, not necessarily ... Silva got the 'assist' for Yaya's 'goal' ... which reminds me, now was his 'free-kick' a 'shot' too?

I do agree 100% that thank god we won, else the discussion would have been some other kind of dissection going on here ...

I thought prior to their first goal that we would score a load as we had openings and looked really threatening. We were throwing men forward and David lost the ball badly allowing them to break away.Do you mean we were complacent by attacking with too many players?

Although a little open t times the goals came from shocking mistakes as Ted says.Cut out those mistakes and we might just win some away games with less trouble.

Four goals away from home is never a bad thing. Yes, the goals conceded were poor and could have been avoided. If we get a settled back 4 and goalie I think the errors will be erradicated. Happy days ahead

Clichy could do that job, but today's performance is a continuation of his typical shit this season.

Milner is playing so well, I don't think it's right to play him there, it weakens us twice.

Dedryk had a great game there v Chelsea a couple of seasons ago. But he is unlikely to suit the attacking style out wide. However, Kolarov didn't play back at all today , so it seemed Clichy was told to defend, & kolarov to attack, which only half worked but could suit Boyata as defender.

I recon Denayer from the EDS could move from cb & play there, but it could spoil him if he had a mare.

I recon he will give Clichy another go.

No, imho they were convinced the game is over and they failed to be concentrated in the first 20 minutes of the second half and that almost cost us.

Our boys stopped the pressure they had put Fulham in the first half on hold and that was almost fatal.

Yet again we come away from a lowly team and hear they played very well.Often it is the best they have played this season. Fulham,Cardiff,Sunderland,Villa it's seems to be consistent theme.Do we allow teams to play well against us or do they raise their game.

The contrast of course being Stoke and Villa v the scum in recent games where they virtually didn't turn up.

Ted Hughes wrote:Agree.

It's NOT our style of play which is causing us to concede goals, it's piss poor defending collectively & individually.

We will always be vulnerable to letting in goals due to our attacking style, but these goals, like most we are conceding, are not down to lack of bodies or because of tactics, they are just shit. One player compounding the mistake of another rather than covering it

Demichelis chasing after clichy for the 1st, rather than going to the penalty area, was a prime example; shocking and amateurish.

If he actually plugged his brain in, I think he could be great.

Spot on, its not like we are playing an all out attack, just piss poor defending
