No don't be stupid, do we measure the assist to the assist ?

this question has been raised in other sports where 'assists' are measured.

in hockey assists can be awarded to two players.' in basketball some teams swing the ball around the 3 point arc to create an easier, more open shot, so everyone involved could be credited and sometimes announcers refer to someone getting a 'hockey assist', but the last pass is still measured as the only assist anyway.

Just reading through and I'd never have guessed that we's won 4-2 until the end of the thread. Only seen Vinnie's own goal in the pub and what a gol it was, completely avoidable.

Sounds like the lads did well though. 4-2 away from home which means, you guessed it, 3 more points.

2nd in the league with top of the table to come. Bring it on.

Just watched the recorded rerun of Sky's game of the day ... During the game the commentator points to Navas (just after he came on as a sub) that he once broke the speed gun or some speed machine at Sevilla, that's how quick the lad is ... anyone knows what that was about? We all know how quick he is but he outran some sort of machine's speed measuring max??

Sky+'d the full game on sky and watched it at about 2am this morning, i actually got the impression we'd been on top of the game for a fair amount of it

What surprised me is how difficult we found it getting through midfield, Silva was stuck in a quagmire and often double marked, Negrado and Dzeko seemed to be very isolated upfront as we struggled in midfield. In deed most of the first half Fulham had better chances - just we put an amazing free kick away and Vinnies goal resulting from another set piece (Doug did say we'd been practicing!)

Riise seemed to spend more time in our half than his own.

Fulham really made good use of their extra man in midfield!

Then we brought Navas on, and pretty much straight away the game changed. We took more control, vinnies OG was crazy and we were getting on top of Fulham more and more at that point. In fact Riise was still venturing into our half when Navas broke through and scored his.

Milner was fresh legs and drive for Nasri who had also had to battle for every inch earlier - and James is on fire; currently everything he touches turns to gold - but Negrado's cross to him was sensational - and Milner showed how much confidence he had to just put enough on it and score!

Was a cracking game, i stand by what i said before the game (and others too) that one up front would have been better and it seemed to prove that as we changed to nullify Fulham's strength in midfield and take control when we adapted - of course if both teams had stared with a. 5 midfield it may have ended 0-0 ;-)

Have flown back to the UK for Christmas so was good to get down to Craven Cottage for the match!

It was an entertaining game. Fulham worked their socks off the whole game and made it really difficult for us in midfield, putting pressure on us quickly anytime we had the ball. We didn't play too well in parts, but we still won and managed to score 4.

The defence is still a mess. Kompany's forward runs may look good, but too often he gets caught in possession and is left out of position. It was the same against Arsenal. Demichelis continues to show his headless chicken qualities. He does something good, and follows it up with something stupid. Lescott is a far better option there, and I really wish Pellegrini would give him and Kompany a run of games together. Also, Kompany and Demichelis give the ball away so often, it astounds me that people on here try to use distribution as a criticism of Lescott.

Our midfielders and attackers weren't at the races for parts of the game but showed their quality in glimpses. Yaya's free kick was absolutely superb. I actually thought Silva was having a poor second half, giving the ball away regularly, and at the time thought he would have been better going off instead of Nasri. But he improved significantly after the substitutions played a crucial role in setting up our 3rd and 4th goals. Navas and Milner added some great impetus to the side when they came on - it really is great we have so many attacking options. Negredo's assist on the 4th...just wow!

Overall, whilst not our best performance, it was another entertaining game and our away form continues to improve. We'll need to be tighter at the back against Suarez as he could expose some of our frailties. But Liverpool will be extremely wary of us, and our ability to score goals from anywhere.

Question: Who did Yaya go in the dugout back row to hug to celebrate his goalazo? Thought would see it in full game re run at Sky as stream was poor to show but Sky wasn't helpful either and then MotD didn't mention as well.
