I'd ask Milner to follow Suarez around the pitch and just out-work him. James could do it as his attitude is fantastic. Could unsettle The Racist, too.

Good idea but i think Pellegrini needs to come to his senses and give clear instructions to vince not to go on walkies into the oppositions half and he should start joleon too.

It's time for Henderson to show us how good he is.

I started a thread last summer after we had just won the Asia cup when Pellegrini had just took over to debate whether Milner was now the best English player in the Premier League . He certainly delivers almost all the time when asked to feature in whatever position and was outstanding in the fantastic win at Bayern in the Champions League . Superb reliable consistent footballer who by his own admission doesn't mind playing in any position for the teams cause ......... a managers dream. How players like Wiltshere and Cleverly and Carrick get selected before Jimmy for England is an absolute joke .
Not really here

I've always rated Milner and feel that when he is in good form, he can play anywhere and perform. I mean he's played on the right and some of his link-ups and inter-changes with Zabba have been great. He's going through a great period playing on the left wing, so the obvious going forward strategy should by starting him there and have Nasri tuck in behind Negredo. But will the Count think in that way ??
As for RB position and provided that Lescott is fit, how about Martin moving there. He is right footed but he does lack some pace. Just a thought ? Clichy made me as nervous as hell yesterday, playing there.

I reckon you could throw a brick at him and he'd probably try to head it.

I was taunting some rags about him. He is like Phil Jones (he can play anywhere), only he is much better and doesn't scare the children with his facial expressions. Oh and he is also not a tool.

Love the way he is playing, and while I agree with you Ted that he should not be used at right back, I am confident he could handle it.

I like Kinkyola's plan. Just hope the Count doesn't think "Milner" is spelt "Garcia"

I understand what Ted means by it being tight on Milner 'shoving' him at right back - but he is our best option there at the moment.

Milner RB and Jesus on the wing is more solid than Boyata / Clichy RB and Milner on the wing imo.

The needs of the team should come first and it's a big big match vs Liverpool.

How about Rodwell at RB? sure he'd do a job and is mobile (and right footed) enough.

When Milner played right wingback for Mancini, we got arse raped. Milner got turned inside out on plenty of occasions.

Irrespective of my o.p. I don't get why everyone thinks he will be so good there anyhow. He got destroyed by Phil Bardsley in that position only a few weeks ago, & everyone crucified Micah for not being there to save him, now he's preferred starter v Liverpool.

Don't get it.
