That's only the price if Barca don't want to sell.

I still couldn't see him leaving, but then Barca seem to be trying to force him out. I could still see a Shrek/Rags style climb down from both sides though

Probably the largest IF in Manchester City's transfer history, but IF he comes, do we change the entire system to accomadate him?

Play a 4-4-1-1 with him in the hole and Sergio...umm, nowhere?

Play 4-3-3 with him and Sergio flanking Neggers, Silva in the hole and no place for Nasri?

Play 4-5-1, give Messi licence from the right and sit Negredo on the bench for the times we're 2-1 down to QPR and throw every striker we have on?

It will happen in my mind it is a deal that makes sense. I also think the sneaky Bayern Munchens will be lurking and trying to do a deal which shocks the world.

At least one player would leave id imagine. Dzeko and an attacking mid would be my guess.

I like the question "do we change the entire system to accommodate him?". With Messi in the side the team would be improved regardless of where he fits in.

I wouldn't be suprised if the transfer price was anywhere from 150-200. Supply and demand and there is only one Messi*, double the price of Bale doesn't sound all that unreasonable to me.

* There are however about 15,000 "The next Messi" players according to the media though so perhaps that would affect his value.

Natural situations such as injuries plus being allowed to rest Silva & Nasri more, would almost cover it I recon. If you add in the possibility of resting Yaya or Fernandinho in some home games (we would have so much of the ball with Messi in the side that we would only need one of those two in half the home games, just play one like Barca used to with Yaya).

Plus use the subs more; Silva off after 60, Negredo on, etc.

Dzeko would be the one who made way imo.

I don't see him leave Barcelona.

I'd love for it to happen, but I just don't think it'll happen.

I'm pretty sure we could find somewhere in the team for him. Although I'd prefer Garcia for the away games.

Over-rated and messi are two words that should never go in the same sentence. It is not possible to over-rate him.
Interesting to see that some think we may try to get him, to me its very credible that we COULD try to get him soon.

He will get the Barca board transfered out, not the other way round.

Political posturing that Messi will win by the mere hint of him being forced out.

I so hope I'm wrong though, a couple of seasons with him would be fantastic
