I sit in Colin Bell 3. I actually heard him scream at one point in the second half as he threw himself to the ground. He's a degenerate.

^^^^^^ This is so true.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Rogers having a right girly moan about reffing decisions - he's blaming the officials for the result. I hope they retrospectively red card suarez for his repeated diving is all I can say - quite amusing to hear the high pitched squeak of a dipperpool complaint but whereas I had some respect for rogers previously (transvestite exploits aside) I now have him marked down as being a cunt who couldn't just wipe his mouth and walk away with respect.

Great result today and showed fantastic resolve when we went a goal down, i thought it was fairly even - certainly our toughest game we've had at home, but as each half went on we controlled things more and more.

Navas, Silva, Negrado and Nasri were fantastic going forward and tracking back. Ferdi was brilliant yet again!

When they went ahead i was never worried that we'd pull one back at least.

Navas is immense when he's breaking forward - too fast for our own players! Equally got stuck in and raced back to help defend - love the guy - happy birthday!

Did we miss Kun? I think We do miss the extra man up front at home but the 5 man midfield with silva floating around meant we worked hard for the win - silva was often a little too deep to support Negrado but Navas and Nasri stepped up well but this seemed to get a better linkup from defence to attack (Silva starting the passes for the 2nd goal from deep).

Suarez was in Vinnies pocket most of the game, unless your MOTD, Lescott started off nervous/rusty (del as appropriate) but came on good. We do need a more solid CB but i think Lescott is better than DM as a defender.

Is it only me or someone else also thinks that if they had Sturidge and Gerrard (or even one of them) in their line up, we'd have seen another of the same score line we've seen last three times we've played them ... 2-2 that is ...

And had we had Aguero on for us, we'd have seen us score 4 minimum, fine we might have given one odd goal more to them given a player short in midfield, but still would have scored more today?

Hypotheticals of course ... but one does wonder!

Liverpool did great today & gave us a good test; BUT WE WERE BETTER THAN THEM. On another day, we would have raced away but we weren't quite as inspired in the final 3rd.

Re Sturridge/Gerrard; Before the game I thought it was a good thing that they were missing, but having watched it close up, I recon they would have struggled had those two played. They tend to put everything into the first hour & some of their players were blowing like fuck on the hour mark.

We really should have destroyed them round about that time, but we let them off the hook big time when they were almost collapsing on the pitch in their own half & they found a 2nd wind (we picked up niggles brought on Dzeko & then WTF ? Garcia ) etc.

Had Gerrard played, all the mids around him would have been 20% more tired chasing our players. Similar with Sturridge who is more of a striker (& probably would have been on the bench).

but well played to them; they gave us a test.

The fucking whinging by Rodgers etc though, just shows up Liverpool for what they are imo. All my life, I have watched these cunts get awful unjust decisions v City, & when they get a couple against, & they squeal like stuck pigs.

There is no difference between these people & the rags. Fuck the pair of them.

Either of them winning the title would be a disaster. As I've said on here many times; they are two cheeks of the same arsehole.

I don't usually watch motd. Mainly because of their blinkered and warped views towards the old guard.Watching the highlights it seems like only Scouse 2 turned up last night. Shearer was fair towards us though , for once !

SSN highlights much the same. No Navas header or all those pull-back chances we had. Just the Scouse ones.

Big result. Kompany superb, Hart reassuring, Ferna was everywhere and Silva again a constant menace. On such games are titles won.

Need to hold serve on saturday and then see where we are. Chuffed with that result.

Ted Hughes wrote:Lucky break MD missing today. Both centre backs diving in trying to nick the ball off Suarez & missing would surely have cost us at least two points.

As it was, it was the quietest game Suarez has had all season. Great effort to stop him getting a single decent scoring chance in 90 mins.

Attackers should have taken the scousers to the cleaners after an hour, but failed to take advantage & we almost paid for it.

They will not play better than that v anyone. Still lost.

Agreed. City were good and good enough to beat the 2nd best team in the league. If we had played to our full potential, it would simply have been a bigger win. Were the best team in the league, easily.

A long time later but today the BBC reports:

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has been charged over post-match comments he made following his side's defeat at Manchester City on 26 December.
Rodgers criticised the "horrendous" performance of the match officials and questioned the appointment of Bolton referee Lee Mason after the 2-1 loss.
He said: "Hopefully we won't have a Greater Manchester referee with Liverpool-Manchester games in future."
Rodgers has until 1800 GMT on 8 January 2014 to respond to the charge.
The Football Association said: (external) "It is alleged the comments by Rodgers called into question the integrity of the match referee, and/or implied that the match referee was motivated by bias; and/or brought the game into disrepute; and/or amounted to a failure to act in the best interests of the game."
