Jamie Redknapp a short while ago said "..anyone from Stoke has got problems.."

I figured it was the truest thing he has ever said, but then I realised he was talking about positions in the Prem table..

Looking at the table you can see there's a clear divide from 9th downwards and notable that the Saints have now slipped from a couple of points off the top to 12 behind now.

What is interesting is that there are 8 clubs still within 8 points of each other which is quite uncommon at this stage. The last couple of seasons have seen a couple of teams move away from the pack, namely us and the Rags, who have then gone on to win the title. This is the most open season in years where the eventual winner could come from any of the top 8, and definately the top 4 where 1 win can take you top.

1 Arsenal 18 18 39
2 Man City 18 32 38
3 Chelsea 18 15 37
4 Liverpool 18 22 36
5 Everton 18 12 34
6 Newcastle 18 6 33
7 Man Utd 18 9 31
8 Tottenham 18 -5 31
9 Southampton 18 7 27
10 Stoke 18 -8 21
11 Swansea 18 -1 20
12 Hull 18 -7 20
13 Aston Villa 18 -7 19
14 Norwich 18 -15 19
15 West Brom 18 -5 17
16 Cardiff 18 -15 17
17 Crystal Palace 18 -15 16
18 Fulham 18 -16 16
19 West Ham 18 -10 14
20 Sunderland 18 -17 13

Wouldn't mind one but I think the Rags are due a penalty from an innocuous challenge by a stray crisp packet.

Smalling saying that we're all looking over our shoulders now. Yeah because the last time they bettered our result to make up any ground was when we lost at Sunderland on Nov 9th.

They got the rub of the green against Hull and the game we saw at the Etihad was on a different level. He's right though. At 5pm we should be looking over our shoulders because there won't be any teams to look up at.

Just saw s.sinclair on the bench of WBA (looks somehow familiar). Was he sold or will he come back at the end of the season?

He'll be back unless Brom take the option to buy. Sinclair wasn't really given the chance so nobody can really criticise him. The blood clot at the end of last season and his injury (first game back) have set him back even more but it'd be nice for the lad to get himself playing again and possibly earn him a new contract elsewhere.

We both benefit then.

Anelka grabs a brace to put Brom 2-1 up. If it stays like this then BFS must surely get the 'Gold' treatment from his bosses.

Is it 'Bye Bye Fat Sam'?

Good shout its been a while since that happened.

Norwich have been the worst team in the league whenever I've seen them, just awful and I don't know how they have any points whatsoever. United are going to win very comfortably today, although in any other game without Rooney and RVP they'd more than likely struggle.

Didn't Wiggy play in their last game?

I noticed Taggart was sat with the players the other day. How exactly does that work, having the ex-boss on the bench with the lads? Seems to me that he is there to exert influence over the players and maybe the ref's if he gets chance.

Very strange, very strange indeed.
