I feel entitled to have a go at that.

I'm not meaning to take anyone's fun and I too am enjoying their decline but it does seem a few are a little too obsessed with them and and what they are up to. They are not a threat to us anymore.

We got a brilliant win away from home yesterday but on here today all the talk is about THEM. There's 4 topics on here about them on our first page. All saying near enough the same thing.
We accuse the media of giving them undue and disproportionate attention and we're doing the exact same thing!
A mid table side lost at home to a top 4 contender. There's no story there ;)

It is all banter in the end. My Rag friends dished it out when they were on top and I dish it out now but it's all good natured and humoured.
A rag loss however hilarious, will never give me an ounce of the pleasure that a City win does.
Most of the Rags I know are taking the piss of themselves and their team and seeing the funny side of it which is funny to see.

Sometimes you've got to lighten up mate. That view you state is one persons way of showing his hatred for the Rags whilst showing his love for our club, something that shouldn't be taken literally but more with an appreciation and understanding. Some Blues, dependant on where they live, have taken some serious abuse and not only verbal. A couple of years back when we'd beaten United it all kicked off in a pub down the road from me. This happened because there were 2 Blues who had the audacity to watch a match in a pub. One of the Blues was stabbed whilst the other was left unconcious, both hospitalised because some armchair fuckwits couldn't handle the pain of losing a game.

Now, this is an extreme case but it does go to show the lengths certain members of society will go to prove they are better. The problem is that they seem to have a large contingent of these idiots and whether it be verbal or physical, they just can't help themselves.

Nothing wrong with banter mate, I/we do it all the time. The difference is that Blues take it with a sense of humour whereas many of them use it with a vicious slant and try to put individuals down and somehow lord it over others.

I find it better to actually play them up, telling them it will all come good and that they have what it takes to come back. That way they walk away smiling but realise after the next defeat what I was actually doing. It brings them down from that high horse, just enough for me to get the next blow in.

I think certain sections of the two sets of fans are a little bit too obsessed with each other.
Like that banner. They had the most successful team in England, were winning trophy after trophy but still seemed it appropriate to focus on our (lack of) achievements rather than their own achievements.

Generally us fucking up, gave them more enjoyment then them succeeding.
I would never want us to have a banner about that lot in our stadium, I wouldn't want to give them the attention.

My only point was that I missed our game the other day and I came on here wanting to see what people thought about it as it was a great win by the sounds of it but all the talk on here was about THEM rather than us. Do we really need to dedicate 4 topics to them?

Yes it's fun to goad them, take the piss out of them and have a bit of banter but it's important imo that as fans we don't look too obsessed with them and focus more on ourselves and our own successes.

Until just over a year ago I lived right in the heart of Ordsall for over 10 years and was subjected to rag shite on a daily basis. Fuckin patronising cunts rags are and lying fuckers to boot too. They love to give out shit but cannot take it back one little bit thw soft fuckin cunt!.

We have damned well earned our fuckin right to give those cunts shit any time we see fit and I love the fact that I can now watch the young lads in our family stand tall and rip into those cunts at every given opportunity.

How fuckin dare anyone suggest that we shouldn't dish it out. Too fuckin short memories some have on here.

As Corporal Jones said "They don't like it up em Captain Mainwairing!".

Let the devilworshiping rag cunts ave it big time!!!

Bridge's Left Foot old chum,
Just looking at this in an objective manner, SOME City fans might consider you to have too many Scum chums and SOME might harbour the suspicion that you circulate too much with them.

On that basis, SOME City fans might be a little concerned that you've been tainted by the Dark Side.

I'm not necessarily saying this is so, but you might wish to have a think about the footballing image of yourself that you're portraying.

Zzzzzzz........ broken record rag apologist. There are plenty of threads on here about the game and if you want to watch it yourself, just search "man city swansea torrent". If you get annoyed by anti-rag threads, just don't read them. Or start a new thread with a question you had about the game. Or maybe just talk to your rag mates instead.

Why is it that you always seem to be the one who talks about and sticks up for the scum and their players like shrek? Always feeling like you have to give them credit for a well worked goal or good play. It seems youre the most obsessed on here!

Once again, have a good hard think about who your audience is on here and if anyone wants to hear you defending/sticking up for the rags. We already hear rag bias at work, radio, tv, newspapers..... so we don't need any more of your high horse bullshit on top of it all.

I've not actually defended them at all over this. Or praised them or anything. Nothing I said at all in this debate has been to defend them.
I think it's hilarious what's happening to them and seeing 'a great empire' fall and seeing their cocky fans have to watch it. Of course I love it when they lose.

I didn't mean to drag the debate out. I guess growing up being a city fan we were exposed to the pure arrogance of their fans, especially with regards to that fucking banner! They were a right classless bunch.

I guess the point i was sort of trying to make was that we are better than that and shouldn't become the arrogant tosspots they were despised for being.
Not saying we are but I just felt it a little weird that the day after a great win for us, our focus was more on them.
That's all.

Theyre really in a bad spot. They need a massive overhaul. Does Gollum buy overpriced players in this window or wait for the inflated rates for world cup stars to please the supporters. This of course is all dependent on a top 4 finish which isnt looking likely.

If I were a rag now, I would be looking at a Liverpool style demise, perhaps sinking as they did after Benitez left down as low as the top part of mid table in the short term - i would be fucking furious at Ferguson for bailing when he did, although realistic enough to accept that he was also under financial constraints which meant he was never going to leave a great squad to handover - but the shit with Rooney was a cunts trick to pull, and whose to say that Rooney being unsettled in the off season wasn't enough to put off potential signings.

So long as the club have a strategy, no reason to panic for them or the manager, after all, it's working out reasonably well for the scouters now, but the fans expectations are incredibly high after being spoilt for so long under bacon face, and from that perspective Moyes really can't be allowed to see the season out if it gets any worse and the Glazers and the Chief Exec are to retain any credibility in the long run. With that in mind, if I were in charge, I wouldn't give Moyes a penny, as they will already have one finger on the trigger.

This is where a genuine director of football system would work for united, allowing them to bring players in to fit a system / squad not a manager. It's the only way in elite football now to avoid wasting tens or hundreds of millions when you need to replace a manager.

Personally I hope it's a death spiral for the cunts and they end up in administration

As long as they beat Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Everton.....and then lose every other game, I don't really mind where they finish.

Thought one of the earlier comments in the thread, from a United fan, was pretty wise when he said they were in for a two to three year rebuilding period. Let's hope we make hay while the rain pisses on their parade!

Still keeping us all entertained i see with their "freefall" style capitulation.Ii really hope this is the beginning off a Liverpool style fall from grace.

I think it is time some Whizz Kid did one off those Hitler videos on Youtube, with Moyes as Hitler in the Bunker, moving around imaginary none existent armies to repel the enemies attack.Instead it could be edited to show Moyes blowing a fuse, living in a fantasy World waiting for RVP to come and save the day for him.

As I think I've said before, everything predicted by the cunts who setup the anti-glazer campaign will now start to come true, it was only a matter of time.

They have a catch 22 situation, where the owners clearly care more about the financial return and business plan, than they do winning trophies. They have seen a model down in London which has generated massive shareholder value by keeping the club in the top 4 on a mixture of shrewd signings and great management.

In the case of United, when Ferguson left, there was always likely to be a dip in performance, but hopefully he would leave them with a squad capable of holding their own through the transition. What I think the anti-glazer lot did have foresight in seeing, was how close Ferguson is to the regime and just how prepared he was to fuck the club over when it came to it. Given the option of building a legacy for the club, or one for himself, he setout to sign two out and out attacking players in Kagawa and RVP on a personal vanity mission to win the league for himself, rather than to give the club the signings in midfield it needed in order to compete in the long term.

This has left Moyes in a totally impossible situation, not helped of course by the fact that he is really out of his depth. Moyes needs to buy in midfield, but given the clubs position and the potential turmoil that could bring, top names don't want to go to united. That vicious circle continues either for the next couple of years until he has the club stabilised, or until he is sacked and a manager with a big reputation is brought in. Even then, the big name manager will be dependent upon how far United have fallen in terms of how quickly he can patch them up with decent players.

For the Glazers, they don't need the champions league in order to run the club at a profit, but they need the champions league for their investment return to continue to make sense from the perspective of the financial implications of losing support in the far east and US to clubs like Arsenal, City, Chelsea, Liverpool who are very shrewd operators in overseas revenue generation these days (unlike in 1992 when United stitched the market up). Without the champions league, united will have no financial crisis, but it will be a senseless investment for the Glazers.

The manager essentially has to do the impossible, and keep this squad in the top 4 - otherwise the problem which then comes for us, is that United will be sold to someone almost certainly with very deep pockets, and the cycle begins again.

Unless of course its some cunt like Vincent Tan in which case, it will be fucking hilarious

The Glazers can't afford to let Utd slip into mid table obscurity imo. They will either find money to spend, or sell up, if this continues.

For a huge number of Utd fans, it's all about winning & showing off. That's not to say they will all jump ship & become City fans if it stops, (some will though) but many will stop buying stuff & stop taking an interest, & the next generations, who would have become rags, will support someone else.

From a business sense, they have to get it right whilst they are still in a position to do so. The bigger we get, the more of their market we take, then there's also Real, Barca etc. But we have the backing like nobody else, to attack this market. We then also have the financial clout to spend money, thus pushing up wages & the price of top players (the very same trick rags, Arse, Liverpool etc used to create the 'top 4' in the first place). Utd can't allow themselves to be swimming after that boat as it sails away, they have to be in it.

They have huge sponsorship deals etc, timed to coincide with us being hamstrung spending wise in the short term by their mates at UEFA. They have to use this window of opportunity, as Arsenal & Chelsea have tried to do, whilst we are adjusting to the 'traditional' clubs' corrupt practices. It's no coincidence to me, that Arsenal have suddenly started spending money just as ffp starts to kick in.

It's 'the plan'. Utd have to do the same during this period, or lose their position in the world pecking order imo.

I recon they will spend big, or sell, possibly next season but if not, then soon after. If they don't, they have fucked it up, possibly for good.

Here's a question:

If Utd were still owned by shareholders such as MacManus etc today, with Sheikh Mansour at City & Ferguson gone, would the Glazers step in & buy it ?
