I mentioned, I think in the 'favourite player' thread, how that kind of thing stops Silva, imo, from being in the absolute top level of players. He usually misses those, even on his favourite foot, & if he's a bit further out, he'll pass it rather than finish it.

For a player of his incredible talent, it's a bit odd really. Not as if he can't shoot, because he can, but he rarely does, & rarely gets it right when he does.

If the Count could fix that like he has some of Nasri's faults, what a player we would have.

Personally, I'm Glad Lopes didn't play after seeing how well Blackburn defended.

It needs to be understood that all players cannot have the skills of David Silva and when they don't do what he would do it doesn't mean they deserve to be shot. Garcia did his job pretty well today as did Lescott. They had jobs to do and did them.Shame they didn't find the penetrative ball to assist for a goal but they did their jobs.

We had plenty of players out there today who arguably didn't do their job very well.Silva for one had a weak performance,Negredo was close to shocking but credit for the goal even if it was a tap in.The problem today was the overall team make up and shape.Milner tried his heart out as usual but he isn't a real winger and needs wide players, full backs included,to play with.Neither of the full backs today can do that.

BBurn had plenty to do with it as well of course with their set up and energy to close down. Our two front men were well handled. So it's a draw and we will beat them in the replay. Next

I was merely pointing to the fact that you have missed Guidetti from the list of sicknotes ... that Rodwell, Micah, Jovetic makes up ...

You talked about this being the game where he could have been given a chance ... (as a young player I assume) but forgot that he is out injured too, so can't really even be considered now can he ...

I agree with you however that I too am getting sick of all these injured players perpetually out as that's our whole list of options when we need to change it around and today proved, we don't have as much depth of squad or that big a squad that the media is having everyone believe in ...

What part was that? Is it because he let Negredo go to sleep and let the man he was marking free to score the goal?

The only person to blame for Boyata's red is Boyata.Brains of a gnat.

THE PART WHERE lESCOTT SHOULD HAVE RELEASED THE BALL BEFORE HE GOT INTO MORE TROUBLE, HE PANICKED AND PASSED TO BOYATA WHO HAD 2 PLAYERS ON HIM.

THATS THE PART.

There is no point in arguing with you since your "thoughts" aren't based in any form of rational logic. So can you just, like, shut up?

This, absolutely ... We come back after going down to ten and withheld their second half onslaught and are still in the draw ... and don't even think of fucking playing EDS or any kids in that, this is an important knockout tie, just gotten a little easier this being the home game now ...

I'd much rather the team stays home and playes this out than fly 8 hours to UAE, change the whole weather, play out a useless friendly, fly back another 8 hours back, bodies to get used to weather again ... idiotic plan from the off, so I am actually happier if anything ... of course a win would have been preferred and best but this is the second best ...

He should learn Karate , or KungFu.

I'm about Silva's size & build, & I could always pass , but not shoot very well.
But when you do combat sports - it enormously improves the power, co-ordination and timing of your kicks , and this is something you can apply to football too . You learn to get what little weight you have behind the ball at exactly the right instant and the f*er flies like a damn rocket exactly where you want it, and I shot with more confidence and scored far more frequently from then on. Does anyone remember Dai Phillips (Plym. Arg -> City c. '84) scoring some bloody thunderbolts from outside the box - he was only about Silvas size too , but his timing was superb

No complaints to be honest, we could easily have lost today. instead we are still in the hat for the 4th round, that has to be a good thing.

I don't understand why we don't start with a strong first 11,get the job done then make substitutions, Instead of chopping and changing and hoping for the best, we now have a replay we don't need.

Also apparently there was another humongous bollock dropped when Negredo was substituted instead of Dzeko ,pretty sure the cunts in the press will take the piss.

Also If out happens to Fernandinho we really are up shit creek with out a paddle.

We have a big squad accepted, trouble is after the first 11 it changes from quality to quantity and perma-sick notes and wage stealer s.

Because hes clearly not fucking good enough.

There are a few things starting to irritate me amongst our fans now, and one of them is all the calls to get Guidetti on the pitch. I saw a video today of Aguero scoring a wonder goal in a huge derby game in Argentina -- he was 17 when he scored that. The players that are good enough to play at the top level, have already started making an impact by that age. Januzaj is another example, someone who is good enough at only 17. Guidetti isn't even young anymore (22 now?) and clearly isn't going to make it for us. If he was going to he'd already have been making an impact long ago.

I'm not sure the so called first 11 would have looked so great today.

Navas & Zabba would probably have made a difference but I would have put Vinny & Yaya down for a stinker each.

Rough day, nothing seemed to go our way. The ref was fine, but did we get a single free kick? With the talent we have that should be a given, but every foul (and they were rightly called) seemed to go against us. And Spurr with that throw in is deadly. Glad to make it to a replay.

I was really hoping Boyata would come good, but I think it is time for him to move on. No one really stood out for us, but some really showed poorly.

. . .OK - perhaps not good enough for a visit to Emirates or Anfield - but perhaps good enough to be 4th choice forward for a visit to Blackburn or similar - which is why we need to have players like this in the squad so we can at least give them a run on days like today & see how good/crap they are. We need a First XI and a Second XI for the 4 comps we're in.

this. with all players healthy we have a good, deep squad.

but with Micah and Rodwell, and now Jovetic, constantly injured we are short in many areas and have to rely on playing players out of position, playing less than optimal formations and pairings, and overworking players.

He came back from being a huge success in Holland & got a career threatening illness, then got a serious injury & has spent this season rebuilding his body & working towards getting match fit. Now he has started to look more like it, we are talking about getting him some games by loaning him out, as he needs plenty of football to get him fully match sharp again & is too good for the EDS.

How the fuck does that equate to being 'clearly not good enough' ?
