Fancy rags to go through if score stays the same. Another Mackem goal however...

Altizore on as sub. He is total dog shit so it would be the icing on the cake if he scored.

As good as it is seeing them lose. I would rather then go through so we can humiliate them at Wembley

They got 6 and a half. He must of got the wallet out at half time.
I don't think that will be enough to see Sunderland to the final. Whoever refs the second leg will be desperate to make amends for that penalty.

They play the second leg straight after the rags have played at Chelsea. Sunderland still very much in this tie.

I will wait with being smug until after our game tomorrow. I have a feeling we will struggle tomorrow. Fat Sam will have eleven men behind the ball for 90 minutes, and with our attack being a bit stifled at the moment, I'm predicting a very frustrating game.

Erik you are thinking along the same lines as me mate.We need an early goal to make things easier imo.

Remember AJ's tumble against Fulham a couple of years ago? He went down just as easily tonight. Not right, but decisions that used to go the rags' way are going against them now. It'll be interesting at the swamp seeing which of their squad of divers falls over first.

It's great that Sunderland have a lead to take to Old Trafford. Two awful sides tonight though. Having said that, if the Rags don't have both RVP and Rooney fit for the return leg, Sunderland could well sneak through to the final.
I would have so much more confidence if it was anyone but Sunderland!

I don't think they need a lead when going to Old Trafford. I was more concerned Sunderland would lose the first leg.

It was a penalty. Johnson was deliberately bumped going at full pace. It was also Sunderland's free kick before the first goal. United were very lucky not to have a man sent off for a second yellow; not mentioned by Gollum in the interviews. If he goes on blaming bad luck and referees he's going to make himself look more and more ridiculous. I think the scum will go through in the second leg though. This defeat will force the scum to play a strong team in the second leg which might hurt them in the following league match

Second leg will be interesting. I'd say the Rags are slight favourites IF they can get rooney and RVP back but that's only because of how poor Sunderland are. If Sunderland set up to shut united out all game then they will lose imo. However if they attack united and really get at their poor midfield and defence then they have a really good chance. All depends if Poyet is brave enough not just to instruct his team to go for the 0-0.

Hull v Chelsea, 0-1. Chelsea have been pretty average but Hazard has come to their rescue. They are lucky that Hull haven't given this match a real go.
