John 19:31-34
New International Version (NIV)
31 Now it was the day of Preparation, and the next day was to be a special Sabbath. Because the Jewish leaders did not want the bodies left on the crosses during the Sabbath, they asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies taken down. 32 The soldiers therefore came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and then those of the other. 33 But when they came to Jesus and found that he was already dead, they did not break his legs. 34 Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus’ side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water.

Right, that's work done for the day and off to drive to the ground. I usually avoid Radio Manchester's 'Red Wednesday' thing like the plague, but I might listen tonight for a giggle. On the other hand, laughing so much while driving could be dangerous......

I'm not even in the fucking country And I've had to buy a ticket, fuck knows whose using it, but this season looks likely to be the most expensive on record for me, and I only plan on going to one away euro game this season!

Fucking out of order that. So the poor cunts are just hanging around waiting to die, so they break their legs to speed it up?

Strongest team out please Manuel. The second leg will be a close, tricky affair if we dont take a good cushion. Lets put it to bed pyscholigically with a big win tonight. Get a 4 goal win tonight and West ham will be more concerned with next league game than 2nd leg.

Hart
Zabba Kompany Lescott Kola
Yaya Fernandinho Nasri Silva
Beast Dzeko

Am going for 3-0. Think BFS will play a 5-5-0 and simply try and avoid a pasting. If its kept to 2-0 I think BFS will take that so even an early goal wont change their mindset tonight. We cant go through tonight but it can be lost by West Ham if we muller them. The 2nd leg will be a formality butit will still need to be played

One of the Roman guards stabbed him with a spear when he was hanging from the cross. And yes, the head injury is from the crown. All six are common stigmata.

Six?

It's called Five Holy Wounds, including the lance.

Two hands
Two feet
Head
Hole in the side

That's six no? Can the god botherers not count. Or does it have to be an actual hole to be holy, eg the crown of thorns don't count?

The forehead is traditionally not counted as one of the the five holy wounds. It's still a (as far as stigmatas go) fairly common.

I am not getting into this god thing, but anyone who had a religious upbringing, well Christian, would know this...
