I think you could be right. At least in my lifetime anyway.

We are playing some amazing football, but I have a feeling our defence will cost us big this season at some point.

Cup Final or something along those lines.

I don't think we are a shoe-in for any trophies this year. But 2 or 3 would certainly make it an amazing season......plus the demise of those over at the Swamp, makes it even better
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

Calm down Lee.

Mighty Leeds - the best team I've known in this country but never won the trophies to match - went into a week with League, FA Cup and European Cup on the cards and within that week lost them all.

Oh god. Clearly not been a Blue long enough to learn have you?

Perhaps the FA Cup final last May will jog your memory on never taking things for granted where City are concerned. Ive a horrible feeling this 2 leg semi-final tie will be a lot more difficult that some seem to think.

Agree with you re: the defence. We're still too naive defensively in my opinion and I think there's only so long we can get away with it. If Pellegrini isn't willing to give Lescott a run with Kompany then we need to try and buy someone in January, although whether we can buy anyone reasonably good at a reasonable price is another thing. It's painful watching Nastasic play and Demichelis turns into a headless chicken far too often.

Regarding this season being the best - nothing will ever top the 2011/12 season for sheer elation. In terms of winning trophies, then we have a great opportunity in all 4 competitions but as others have said, let's not jinx anything right now!

Deary me.. supported City for 38 years. My point is.. even without a trophy so far this season has to be the best we've experienced with the way were playing coupled with the demise and laugh ability of that lot. Not saying were going to win anything or that they wont even but Sooo far its the best times I can recall.

2012 was better, as it stands today, as we won the league. If we match or beat that this season, different matter.

On fire and alot more entertaining under Pellers than Mancini....Except for the 6-1 at the swamp of course.

We will always stay grounded and never act like those obnoxious, arrogant rag fans.. Nothing is for granted in my eyes until i see Kompany lifting the trophy ha. Great half a season though.

The 6-1.

Give him some time and he may very well match that achievement.
Best season of football so far, no doubt.

I agree, he will match it eventually..Maybe in the champs league? I just value the 6-1 because it hurt purple nose so badly and now he's retired it cannot be repeated.

I know we only played West Ham tonight but some of our football almost had me reaching for my semi erect penis to just finish the orgasms off that the football merited.
