The advertisement appeared in London editions of the Metro offering tickets for children from £24 and adults from £42 just a day after City crushed West Ham 6-0


West Ham may not have been expecting a result against Manchester City on Wednesday but they were probably hopeful of still being in the tie.

That doesn't look to be the case now after Manuel Pellegrini's side scored six times to take a seemingly insurmountable advantage to Upton Park for the second leg of the Capital One Cup semi-final.

The tennis scoreline makes it unfortunate for West Ham, who took out a full-page advertisement in London editions of the Metro newspaper on Wednesday promoting tickets for the return game.

Announcing that tickets are on general sale, it offers junior tickets from £24 and adults from £42.

The ad also promotes the home tie against Newcastle three days earlier.

I was going to go to this game is the match was in the balance and the boys needed the support, however, with Barca (away) and wembley on the horizon as well as being in the FA Cup scheme, I really cannot bring myself to beg the missus to let me spend more money after last nights result.

On the return leg itself, I think we will see the Irons put out a similar side that played Forest. BFS will not care about the scoreline too much and Neither will pellegrini, I can see them Sending Karen Brady on all fours to beg/coerce someone at city to play a very under strength team.... however, eeze not possible, we will play a mix of the second string and a couple of youngsters. Everyone coming back to fitness will be given a good run out and be told to avoid silly challenges.

I booked Park Inn, Watford, for me and Stupot before the game. At £24.50 each with breakfast chucked in, it was worth a risk. It's weird to be able to truat the team to keep their side of the bargain. Love it.
