Sorry, the shot would have hit the guy, and would have been offside. But, he dodges out of the way and in so doing interferes and becomes active and is offside.

Agree about the second bit.

Actually that's not a bad thought.

He was in the path of the ball so in moving out of the way he did change where the ball would have ended up.

OK, I'm with this. It's a legit decision.

BUt I would still have been furious if I'd been a Newcastle fan. And then there's the goal that the ref disallowed.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Got to be happy with that going into the break. I thought we were more than a measure until that chalked-off goal and that's when they got angry and started getting at us, with the crowd behind them. The goal shood have stood according to everything we've seen to date since the change of rule. Good to see it called though and a bit of a Brucey there.

With regard to the game, the extra man in midfield is stifling our play and with the pressing game they've adopted it's making it hard for us to play our game. I don't think they can keep it up far past the 55 minute mark which will allow us more time and room on the ball, giving options for the likes of Zab's to get forward more.

Looking forward to a good second half, even if it is a bit of a scrap. These are the games that win titles and if we're not up for this in the 2nd half it will say alot about the team.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

I see your point. But I don't think that makes a difference. I think the interpretation of "interfering" means attempting to gain an advantage or attempting to play the all or player.

Well he dodged out of the way so the ball would go in the net. It's a tight call and I would be spitting feathers if the situation was reversed. That said teams get bad calls all the time, it's how you respond is the important point and Newcastle were well fired up.

Passive offside is if you do not move. HE moved ( out of the way of the ball ) , and as such is active and in an offside position.

They're saying Goufran was not in Harts line of sight but surely he'd be aware of him with his peripheral vision and in real time Hart probably wouldn't have known if he was offside which may have influenced how Hart reacted to the shot.

We really miss Panti in terms of distribution.

Very harsh on Dzeko. He's been far better than Negredo today.

Navas is perfect for this.

His speed and trickery will draw fouls from these stroppy cunts.

Seconded. However, if we're going to play a possession game in the second half, I think it's right. Milner on for Nasri or Silva in 15 mins...

I'm worried that the ref will act under pressure and start giving decisions against us to "balance" it out.
