I don't think so. Yes, Ribery won trophies, but that was team success. It's like giving an Oscar for best actor to a film which won every other award, just because of that.

And the Oscar example is how it typically works in the movie biz, so it's a poor argument.

Ribery driving a team to those heights vs Tranny being just the flat out amazing player he can be? Interesting to see how it pans out, but for me it's Ribery in a cake walk.
