They've done the usual and have lost before they kicked off, and as Beefy says they're getting bollox all from the ref.

If we played then now they'd crumble in fucking fear!

Is Lambert really an "up and coming" English manager? Or did he just have a good season or two at Norwich? I think the latter, since he has a better team at Villa and they are woeful. No organization and little fight, just a bit soulless looking. As if the players are just going through the motions in a headless chicken like manner. 1 win, 1 draw, and 5 losses in their last 7 games (including being knocked out by Sheffield United in the cup).

Then again, Benteke is a shadow of the player he was last year. 4 goals in 15 games. Do some of you still think he is a better player than Mario??

Having said that, I'm still holding on for a 2-2 draw....

I hope they go down and I bet they wish they had sold Benteke while the going was good.

They could have gotten north of 20 mil for him if they played their cards right last summer. Good luck with that now...

Delph is another who has significant faded. Looked like he had stepped up his game a few levels at the start of the season, but seems to have been pulled back down to mediocrity by the team around him.

Villa were doing perfectly ok & created the best chances then for some reason just stopped playing. You could see that everything had gone pear shaped before Wilshire scored. It was like someone threw a switch & they all fell asleep.

Seemed to happen when Delph hit the floor from a very light challenge.

He is one weird fucking player. Some games I've seen him play he would get in our team. Some games he's an absolute plank, like tonight.

I only seen a couple of their early games (mainly Arsenal and us) and he looked at a different level and I even mentioned it to my lad at the time - 'Who the fuck is that?!?'. Since then the results would seem to indicate he's gone back to his usual ways and was less of a sensation than Stevie Super-pants was.

Good to see they've picked it up a little and whilst it's 2-1 there's still a bit of interest.

Not only his play but his pace & workrate seem to fluctuate. Bizarre.

Not too much mention. Now, if his name was Hadda Jacuzzi then it'd be a different matter.

Come on Villa, pull something out of this

edit: just saw beefy already posted practically the same thing as I did below

Last time he played arsenal (in the first game of the season), he looked incredible. If he can play like that every game, he could step into almost any team in the league like you said. But then again, his good form has been more of the anomaly than below average form.

Must be insanely frustrating for any manager he plays for. Everyone knows that kid who was world class in training, and would show a glimpse of it every one in awhile, but was mostly below average. 99% of the time it is because of a mental block, excessive nervousness during game time, or similar psychological hurdles.

That's ridiculous. The ref was giving nothing until Toady told the him to.
