@EPLStuff: Sorry for the last tweet. False alarm caused by a fake twitter rumour and German accounts believing it. No Bayern bid for Mata.

Its pleasing to me that in this transfer window Utd are making moves for players to desperately help them scrape into the top 4, whilst we are buying entire clubs to help us achieve world domination.

I like this very much.

I'd still like to see us get another defender and try a cheeky loan for ISCO.

I'd rather they didn't sign Mata though, partly because he's a very good player and now I won't be able to enjoy watching him play.
I much preferred their signing of Fellaini.

I really hope Mourinho regrets this move if Oscar takes a knock. He should easily be first choice in the Chelsea team.

Why loan? Just buy him.;-)

Apparently Chelsea have hijacked Liverpool's attempts to sign Salah. The meltdown at Liverpool is going to be amusing.

It's so fun to just see other clubs fighting over transfers while we get to sit back and relax knowing that our squad is the most balanced one no matter what others do!

For sure, I agree completely. Not much that we can do about it though, and for this season at least hopefully it doesn't make any difference :)

It's fun to imagine how the transfer negotiations for Mata were probably conducted :-

Moyes Mr Mourhino, will you sell us Juan Mata ??

Mourinho I'm not prepared to sell this player to a rival for the Premiership title.

Moyes I'll take that as a yes then........

In reply Mourinho was asked if he would attempt to buy Granny Shagger. The Rags stated that they wouldn't sell him to a direct rival. Southampton and Norwich are reported to be disappointed in this news.

I love this. Of someone had said to me 30 years ago, write a story about the Blues and the Rags in 30 years time, I couldn't have written it better than the reality that is unfolding around us!

Liverpool can only blame themselves. They're dragging their feet over there over a few million pounds.

It's hardly like they've missed out on Lionel Messi here, Salah is going to sit in the spot on the bench Mata left.

Meanwhile, What the Media Says regular Eliaquim Mangala has reportedly turned down a move to City – preferring to leave Porto in the summer, according to French publication Le Sport 10.

“Manchester City have reportedly made a £38m January bid to sign Porto centre-back Eliaquim Mangala but reports in France claim that the player has already turned down an offer as he wants to wait until the summer to move away,” the story reads.

“The 22-year-old French international has garnered a reputation as one of the most talented centre-backs around Europe and a number of big European clubs have shown interest in his services – including Chelsea, Manchester United, Monaco, Barcelona and Manchester City, who according to reports are leading the race for his sign in.

“However, Pellegrini's side are tempted to increase their offer to convince the youngster of a move, as reports suggest Porto are now open to negotiations despite telling City to forget about signing the defender just last summer.”

I agree with the bringing in another defender. Haven't really been following Real this year. Just looking at the stats Isco has started 16 of 20 league games and used as a sub in another. How has he actually played in those games?
