The view from the Away End

I honestly cant say there is anything different here this week, and I always look out for diverse comments. There are some honest, and fairly well reasoned views though ( not too many ). I haven’t watched Watford this year, but I am worried that there is a lot of talk about coming away from the game without any red cards. I loathe teams that cant play us, and choose to just kick the players at every opportunity. It doesn't appear that it is in the Counts DNA to play a weakened team ( not that we have one ), so its down to coming away with the win, and no injuries.

Team Selection

Almunia
Bond - Coton - Miller - Lee - Chamberlain
Digweed - Foster - Sherwood - James
Plumley

My Favourite

All good things must come to an end City 9-10 Watford

And the rest…

Well this looks an easy enough route to the next round then... Deeney to score a hat trick! (Note to Beppe, don't forget to call Pellegrini a C***!)

Hmm, could be worse than last seasons 3-0 and still come off better than Spurs and Arsenal did…

Its a total lost cause, and we could really do without getting spanked at the moment

We can't play a counter attacking game, we don't have the pace.

We can't park the bus, the players aren't good enough to do it for 90 min

We should take the opportunity to blood some of the youngsters, in fact send the U18 team out, that worked well for big Sam.

The worst draw we could have got, complete no win situation ?

Its purely damage limitation, Toure will make mince meat of our weedy midfield

Not many people gave Oldham a chance against Liverpool last year....Someone usually causes a big cup shock, why not us?

I really don't understand the dread. Yes, we are expected to lose so why are our heads down already with scores of 7/8-0? Is it to soften the blow if we do get smashed? If it is only a 1-0 loss are we going to be complaining that we were still in the game but doing nothing about trying to get a goal? Man City are a very good team, but I really don't think we are going to get destroyed. There is the chance but I really can't see it happening

Let's just get this one out the way. We have minimal chance, and a big defeat could knock the confidence in our relegation battle. Even if we got a miraculous result, all people would talk about is Man City still anyway, and how they threw it away! Lose lose situation.

2-0 Watford - Good afternoon's work for The Hornets.

I can't imagine they will field any kind of weakened team, however they may have one eye on the Wednesday Premier League match against Spurs. Perhaps they will see Watford as an easy opportunity to rest some players. Cant really see it though, besides they have so much quality that who ever they rest they have an excellent replacement waiting.

I'm going for another 3-0, or 4-1. I forsee it being similar to Blackburn's effort - encouraging first half that gets everyone a bit over excited, only for City to come out and effortlessly dispatch us in the second

I think Man City will play a 'weakened' team (it's all relative - weakened team for them = dream team for most Championship sides) & will still batter us. Sorry - happy to be proven overly pessimistic.

I really want this one out of the way, I think they will get about seven.

Apart from the keeper nearly all of their line up reminds me of players from the early-mid 80s

Most Championship sides.... our second string would replace most premier league sides :-)

Still I am not going to run into one of those people expecting to win every time we play.....HONEST

My little brother has been a S/T holder at Watford for years, so it's a good excuse for a piss up.
He expects a good hiding, reckons this Watford team is a lot worse than the one we played last year.
Says he'll be happy if they limit us to four.

Nobody's happy to lose and their keeping us to 4-0 will be a miracle - I expect he meant to say 'lucky' not 'happy'.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.
