The view from the [strike]Away[/strike] Home End

Image

There seems to be a fairly balanced view from the Spurs fans this week, and for once not the usual pessimism. Having said that there are the same old comments around our away form, and ‘shaky’ defence. The biggest issue they have is team selection and fitness (so nothing new!). Everyone seems to agree its going to be a good game for the fans. I will be at White Hart Lane on Wednesday night, and I cant wait.

COME ON CITY

Team Selection

Lloris
Walker dawson vert rose
Sandro/capoue bentaleb
Lennon Townsend
Eriksen
Ade

My Favourite

Hope we play like Watford......!!

And the rest…

For us to beat these, we need to put in the best performance we are capable off and they need to have an off day. Every single player needs to be at 100 per cent and our defence needs to be faultless. I just don't see it

The team looks a lot more happy since avb has gone, but we still have a lot of issues, defensively etc and I just don't think we are in the "zone " yet to beat city.

Sh*t, they've lost 4 times this year, and we've lost 5. Home game for us, let's even the score. Always so much pessimism.

Normally im quite positive , but its that I think manC will win the league. They have a massive squad and their footy gets better and better..

6-0 Spurs.

We can win this one people! They are good but not unbeatable

Can't wait to beat these stupid-faced idiots.

City's defence has been poor away from home but that is caused by the number of attacking players they field. We cannot afford to play a high line against the pace of Aguero, Navas and Milner.

There's so much doom and gloom around here about Manc this and Manc that. For FFS were are playing at home! Why should be play like the away side. Let's field the same team that played Swansea except switching Chadli for Townsend.

In my view the way we will beat City next Wednesday night is by stifling their creative midfield when they have the ball and by being positive, fast in attack when we have it. I don't particularly rate their defence and their philosophy appears to be 'we will always score one more than the opposition' which I like, especially as it gives teams a chance!

This is going to be one hell of a match. City are a better side than us - no question - and if we just sit back they will thrash us.

Well, if we lose it would help our ultimate goal of arse not winning the title!

I want us to win this game as much as ever.
But after it's over I will support City in every single game they play in the league. We are not winning the title this year, 4th is our aim. 3rd at an absolute stretch.

Against Man City, that midfield is asking for trouble. It should be Sandro holding with one of Dembele and Paulinho as the box to box.

Unfortunately, most of our attacks go down the right (Walker/Lennon). Those two have awful decision making - they run too long with the ball, don't see the right passes, etc. Lennon isn't going to get anything past Zabaleta, and Ade has poor positioning and reading of the game (although he has been putting in a lot of effort so perhaps could force them in to a mistake).

I do not think Tim will choose the 'park the bus' option......due to bravado and pride.....I hope he doesnt revert back to 4-4-2 as they have better strikers and are more versed with that formation than we are. So I say we TRY and replicate what Bayern did at the etihad this season in the champs league and win with a bit of style...really difficult but I think we have the players to give us a shot.

We'll **** em’

i want us to go toe to toe with them.....fcuk it, they are playing some sparkling football and i do enjoy watching them, but we have some forward players in hot form too so lets just attack them back....it could be one heck of a game
Negredo is out with a shoulder injury.

Dzeko is just as worrying though.

Dzeko is a beast. Would be the perfect signing for us in my view.

'How do you stop Citeh?!?!'

Tell them they have to get to WHL by train...

"Dzeko a beast"?????

...... Maybe watching Adebayor every week inflates his opinion of Dzeko. Beast isn't the first word that comes to mind to describe our Edin

They're probably remembering the 4 goals he scored vs them 2(?) years ago... But he has looked more potent over the last month of so

So we are not merely idiots, but stupid-faced idiots? Well at least we can talk properly.

Got to admire the guy who thinks they will play like Bayern though.

If Spurs play at their best then it'll be a tough ask to beat them at WHL.
IMO, Spurs away is as much a test as Chelsea at home - if we go at them with a high tempo and the sort of 100% commitment that wins the 50/50's then we'll lift the game to a level beyond their competence and we'll blow them away but if we're anything like half-hearted then we could easily be looking back with regret.

I'm pretty damn confident that the gaffer will have the lads tuned in for it and, that being the case it's looking like a 1-4 win for us - my caveat is that that score could be reversed if we turn up expecting a walk-over and they put on a show.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

I laughed at that comment. Brilliant poetry. Sort of.

Interesting that there seems to be a lot less bile than we usually get from Spurs fans.

Wonder if that's because they haven't got Harry whinging about us all the time, or because we are playing such good football, or because if we don't win the league, Arse or Chelsea might do.

Maybe a bit of all 3 ?

Different.
