It's all a bit bizarre.

I can understand it if Richards had continued as he did under Hughes, when he combined recovering from injury with a billy big balls attitude, but he was our first choice fullback for spells under Mancini, on merit, & featured in a big way, in some of our best performances .

Zabba stank the place out at the start of this season & cost us points, but nobody has held it against him long term & now he's back to his best. No reason Richards can't do the same.

This season both right backs have had to adjust to playing with Navas. Zabba struggled at first but is excellent in that partnership now. Micah's injuries means he missed his chance to play a number if games with Our Lied and now he struggles.

He has been slow getting back for several seasons though, no denying that.

Completely agree. Zab struggled on his return initially.

As well as Zab struggling we've also seen clichy struggle this season. Match fit fullbacks who would be in most peoples 1st 11 have had a rough time starting out under pellers. One coming back from long term injury and more than likely low on confidence (yes he smiles and laughs, don't mean he doesn't care) is struggling too. No suprise.

He'll come good, mark my words.

Well I for one have generally defended Dzeko from his detractors virtue of the fact that I think he is good enough for his role in our squad, likewise with Garcia albeit very much against the flow on here.
I like Micah and I can see a possible fringe squad role for him if he really comes good but we'd only have him for use against poor opposition and that would have him effectively blocking new talent with better prospects coming through.
I see this as a pro-City positive opinion . . definitely not hate so don't be silly.
If we had De Gea and the rags had Hart, we'd be top with a 9 point lead and they'd be in 12th place - that's the difference between a 'good' keeper and a 'top class' keeper - 12 places - think about it.

Well said - 'hate'? Where have any of the posts where fans have less than 'love Micah' opinions come across as hate?

People seem to need to get so silly when they cannot otherwise rationally debate/discuss differing opinions

He's rusty, that's all.

One game back from an injury layoff I wouldn't expect too much.(Unless his name is Kun)

This first quote is "rationally debating", is it? If you are coming out with crap like this, you are going to get some back.

On topic, Micah needs games. I don't know how you can judge him when he hasn't had a run in the team. It would be like saying Jovetic is shit. How the fuck can anyone know? Difference with Micah is we know he has been excellent for us in the past but needs a bit of work to get back there. Giving up on him is the easy way out and a bit shitty, in my humble opinion.

Where does this 'if he really comes good' bollocks come from ?

He's not been dropped because he's shit & can't be trusted to do his job, he's been missing due to injury.

Under Mancini, he was a key player who, as I've said before, featured in quite a few of our best performances. He has pushed Zabba on to greater heights due to his constant competition for the shirt. On quite a few occasions during Mancini's time, he won the shirt from Zabba & most people were gobsmacked he wasn't playing for England, as he was easily the best right back available.

He has been trying to get back from injury this season & struggled. If people want to mention that as a concern, then it's fair comment, & if he can't get back to what he was, then of course he will struggle then too, but we don't know that is the case at all.

If Zabba is so good, then how can the bloke who has taken the shirt from him on many occasions, on merit, (with few complaints from anyone) be so poor ?

This is so much better ?

Zaba's progression is strange tbh and goes against the normal development. He's 29 now but up until about 20 months ago he was regarded as a great squad player and a great back up right back to Micah. He has since transformed into becoming imo a truly world class right back. It's rare for a 27/28 year old to suddenly improve so much in such much in such a short space of time.

It is just my opinion that Zabs over the last two seasons, bar a few games at the beginning of this one, has raised the bar and is now playing at a higher level then Micah ever was.

However Micah does have 4 years on him and it's up to him to respond and raise the bar again and hopefully he can.
