There are just two days left of the January transfer window and the scramble to make last-gasp signings has begun.
City have been very, very quiet so far - though suggestions that some late business will be done are beginning to gather pace.
Here, we round up the latest gossip relating to the Blues.
We start with a report suggesting that Porto are working hard to scupper City's move for their centre-back Eliaquim Mangala.
But, according to this Portuguese journalist, there is very little the club can do to stop midfielder Fernando leaving this month.
Rumours linking Edin Dzeko with an exit refuse to subside, as Borussia Dortmund become the latest club to be linked.
And finally, Celta Vigo starlet Santi Mina appears set to join the Blues' growing youth academy.
Dortmund close to signing Man City striker Edin Dzeko
The German club are confident that Dzeko will move to the Westfalenstadion in the winter transfer window, and the player himself is willing to take a pay-cut in order to force the move, according to Bild.
The Bosnian has not had a regular starting place since his arrival at the Etihad Stadium, but has still scored a fair number of goals during his time at Manchester City. The 27-year-old has scored 56 goals, out of which 54 have come from the bench.
The strike partnership of Sergio Aguero and Alvaro Negredo means that Dzeko has started just ten matches in the league this season, and will not get many chances if both the first choice strikers stay fit.
Dortmund boss Jurgen Klopp sees Dzeko as a replacement for the departing Robert Lewandowski, who will join rivals Bayern Munich on a free transfer at the end of the season.
Dzeko's contract runs out in June 2015 and it will be difficult for City to get close to the 27 million they paid Wolfsburg to sign the 6ft 4in striker.
TWEET OF THE DAY
Manchester City moved to the top of the Premier League table with another big win over Tottenham at White Hart Lane, but a hamstring injury to striker Sergio Aguero clouded the 5-1 win.
However, the Argentina international has played down concerns over the injury, reports David Kent of the Daily Mail after the forward limped out of the game just before half-time. Aguero used his Twitter feed, @aguerosergiokun, to say:
“I felt some pain in my right hamstring and left just as a precaution. My studies will tell me the degree of the injury.
It's a pity about the injury but it's easier knowing that we are on top. I hope I get back out on the field soon to keep helping the team.”
Manchester City accounts reveal club spent £639,000 A DAY on employee wages during 2012-13
But chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak says that the overall figures, showing record annual revenue, display a "renewed sense of confidence for the future"
Manchester City's total employee wage bill was £639,000 A DAY in the year ending May 2013, according to their latest accounts.
Figures show that overall wages were £233.1million over the period, while the club's net spend on player transfers has been £582million between Sheikh Mansoir's 2008 takeover and May last year.
While City spent £610million on players from 2008-13, it received £112million transfer fees, giving a net spend of £498m.
That figure does not included the £84m spent last summer on Fernandinho, Alvaro Negredo, Jesus Navas, Stevan Jovetic and Martin Demichelis, taking the overall transfer spend under Sheikh Mansour to £582m.
City also announced a record annual revenue of £271million - breaking the £250m threshold for the first time in the club's history.
They almost halved their losses for second consecutive year and have are operating under zero financial debt having paid off remaining external borrowings.
The figures emerged from City's annual report for 2012-13, with the club posting a net loss of £51.6m, down from £97.9m in the previous period.
City chairman Khaldoon Al Mubarak said the figures displayed a "renewed sense of confidence for the future" and claimed the club's growing global profile had "generated significant commercial opportunities for the organisation and underpinned a strong momentum for the years ahead.”
Chief executive Ferran Soriano said: "Growing revenues and controlled expenses are bringing the club to break even in the immediate future and profitability thereafter.”

City target Celta sensation Santi Mina
The club's extensive youth recruitment policy is set to continue with the 18-year-old Spain youth international, although his parents would prefer him to stay at Balaidos
Manchester City are in talks with Celta over Spain Under-19s forward Santi Mina, Goal understands.
Mina made his Primera Division debut aged 17 and has racked up 16 appearances in La Liga so far this season, scoring on his first outing of the campaign against Athletic Bilbao in September.
Although he was not a pure No.9 in the Celta youth teams, where he played like an ofensive midfielder, Mina always scored tons of goals.
He is also a talented dribbler and especially good at taking on goalkeepers before scoring, though he can at times be too selfish.
These skills have helped him become the third yougest player play for Celta in La Liga at 17 years, two months and nine days. His father also played for Celta in the 80s
The 18-year-old's current contract runs until 2018 and, while his parents would prefer for him to continue his development at Balaidos for another couple of years, City are keen to tie up a deal as soon as possible.
The Premier League side recently committed around £1 million to lure Under-17s World Cup Golden Ball winner Kelechi Iheanacho to the Etihad Stadium and are understood to have offered a similar package to Celta and the player to push the move through.
City have brought a number of exciting youth prospects to the club in the past year, with Norwegian goalkeeper Kjetil Haug, Real Madrid's Jose Pozo, Swede Zacharias Faour and Malaga's Brahim Abdelkader all having joined the club.
Goal has previously reported on the extent of City's youth development overhaul, with director of football Txiki Begiristain hard at work to recruit the best young talents ahead of the opening of the state-of-the-art Etihad Campus.
The impressive training facility will officially open its door in August and will house the youth set-up alongside their Platt Lane complex in Fallowfield.

Pellegrini Eyes Move For £30m Chelsea and Manchester United target
Manchester City are ready to flex their muscles in the remaining days of the January transfer window, after reported emerged that the Premier League outfit have opened discussions with FC Porto to sign Eliaquim Mangala.
The 22-year-old French defender joined the Portuguese club in 2011 and has scored eight goals thus far.
Premier League outfit Chelsea and Manchester United are also thought to be interested in his signature, but according to The Times, City are regarded as favourites for his signature.
A summer move for the defender is more likely, with Porto will be looking to command a high transfer value (as usual their business policy) in the region over £30 m, but with fierce competition expected from other rivals, City are exploring the possibilities of signing the defender before the deadline day.
Under Manuel Pellegrini, City have been a free-scoring side, but the defence remains a concern, having conceded 26 goals in the league so far. Matija Nastasic’s form has dipped this season while Joleon Lescott’s future has been speculated in the media as well.
Despite the rumored interest from Chelsea and Manchester United, both the Premier League clubs have other transfer targets as well. The Blues are looking to sign Kurt Zouma from Saint Etienne, while the Red Devils were heavily linked with a move for Ezequiel Garay of Benfica.
City appear on course to comply with the Financial Fair Play rules, after they sold two assets worth almost £50m that enabled them to cut losses by almost half despite a soaring wage bill. Their financial losses had fallen from £97.9 million to £51.6 million and that turnover had increased by almost £40 million, to £271 million, for 2012-13.
Another Porto defender with a move to the Blues.
They report: “Premier League trio Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been handed a boost after transfer target Nicolas Otamendi has seen his proposed move to Valencia fall through.
“The Argentine defender was on the verge of securing a move to La Liga but the deal fell through in the final stages due to a dispute over wages.
