Vinnie for me.I just love it when he stamps his authority on games and snuffs out their so called big threat.Just like he did with Shrek at the Etihad and it permeates through the team.Loved that moment when the ref gave the fould for the Rose dive and Yaya was getting in the ref's face arguing.Vinnie just butted in and knocked Yaya out of the way so he couldn't get a second yellow.

Wouldn't want to disagree much though with anyone who went for Merlin.Marvellous performance and when he received the ball just before slipping it through for Kun to score I am sure there was a gasp from the crowd that he had been given (found) the space and what happens next id just inevitable.

Fernandinho I also thought was excellent. So good and yet so understated in the way he plays. Can't complain too much at Edin although I was at the time.I thought he played well but I just can't work out why he misses the target by so much at times. Then we get the last goal where he had a golden chance and basically hit a soft volley str8 at the keeper but we got the rebound for Vinnie to score and didn't he just love that.

Pellegrini must be up for man of the match soon though surely. His team selection for games like that is quite easy but he really does get them playing such great football and his changes when needed are very sound.Taking Yaya off isn't something others might do but it was perfect and Demech did a superb job sitting there and giving Fernandinho a little more freedom.

three players in this side that we can not replace at the moment one is kompany, two is yaya and three is silva.
little dave is the best footballer in this league.
some people say he doesnt score enough, so what! we dont need him to score weve more than enough to do that, just keep creating little man.

And he was a post away from scoring yesterday as well.

I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

Well, I see where you're coming from but it's just his thing. He misses some and that's what he does. In combination with his role for the team, I think it can be overlooked on a game like yesterday. Negredo's similar in that he might miss some real sitters but if he has a good game, he will make the rest of the attacking players play better as well. I think that is the role Pellegrini wants Negredo and Dzeko to play and while Negredo took to those directives as a duck to water, Dzeko has taken some time but seems to finally be getting it.

I agree. He was so hungry and really linked up the play well. Took his goal well also. Yes he should have scored more but he was always looking for the ball and on another night he could have scored 4 or 5 tonight. The goals will come.

Would be a crime not to vote for Silva after such a fine performance, as Aguero didnt stay on for long. Need Silva pumping and rested for Barca, need Nasri & Milner back, to provide options.

None in midfield across the world can match him for me.

I'm going for Vincent.

There were several moments when, after taking Spurs to the cleaners but only getting one goal, the defence packed in & VK rescued it.

A goal for them at that point, after us basically producing just about the best 30 mins of football away from home EVER in the Premier league, would have been such a sickener; it would have taken some real mental strength to come back.

He was also great on the ball & quick in distribution, & scored just to cap it off.

On that form, he is the best in the world.

Tell me I'm not getting carried away here, but I don't remember ever seeing such a display of footballing brilliance as we served up during that half hour in the first half. I've had a night and a morning to think about it and I STILL can't remember a finer display.

I'm giving an encouragement vote to Clichy. That may have been his best game all season.

When you consider the opposition & the run they have had, to totally take a game like that & utterly destroy them, is not something you see.

We have seen moments of brilliance etc before & teams come out & score several, but that kind of utter domination in those circumstances is not normal at all.

Tbf, Sherwood has aknowledged it for the quality it was & fair play to him.

That's part of what got me thinking about it - Sherwood, Ginola, and even Hansen's reactions. HANSEN of all people.

And away from home too. Are we going to start doing to teams away what we do to teams at home? Because if we do then this would be quite serious. A Barca type dominance of the PL?? Not out of the question given this is Pellers first season.

I remember those moments well where Vincent was faced with a difficult defensive situation and on every occasion was the master.I don't think any of our other defenders would have had the same results so we may well have found the game unjustly level.Brilliant from the skipper and I have no doubt it helps just lift the confidence and belief in the rest of the team.

Reminded me of Arsenal when they came to us with Henry, Pires, Bergkamp and Vieira. They were 4-0 up after twenty minutes.
I remember thinking they were just the most incredible side. Never did I think I'd see a City team play like that.

it was on par with the first 20 min of that 2-2 barca match at the emirates in 2010, or that 5-0 classico. a fucking clinic.

until last night, i didn't think we would ever have the workrate off the ball to play like that. major credit to pelle.

Whole team! What package of energy last night. There was a time when the left or right back Spurs receive the ball in an attempt to launch an attack and suddenly whole whole midfield starts to squeeze between them and the attacker but with such energy that the Spurs looked frightened at times while receiving a ball watching the four players sprint at them from all directions at each part of the field I was fascinated. Real team performance.By the way did you ever see player handle a ball 6 times like that after Edin shoot . How that was not a penno , what is more funny on BT it was not in u know refs mistakes .
You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

Sherwood was very gracious in defeat....
"You want a team like this to win the league because they entertain"
"Even before the penalty they played us around the park"
"By far the best team in the league"
Nice to listen to a manager, like Pellers, that does not bother with mind games unlike Baconface or that twat Mourinho who I suspect will not shut up between now and Monday. I would very much like to stuff them by 5 on Monday and see him talk his way out of that.

Kompany with a true captains performance. Silva had a good game, but I have to admit I'm surprised at the percentage of people who have gone for him.

Was a great team performance from everyone, perhaps barring hart, who I felt was poor in the execution of the things he had to do. Hope it's not a sign of things to come again.

Caught some of TalkSport earlier and John Cross from the Mirror reckons we could be the best side ever in the premier league era. They were all saying how no side has ever blown it's nearest rivals away like we have. Just need to prove it's not a fluke against Chelsea
