It's hard to when your at a Champs league game and a load of foreigners are sat near you being dicks and talking in their own language and thrn mockingly mimicking songs we sing in English.

How do you know they're mocking? They could just be trying to join in to show their support, could they?
As for foreigners speaking foreign languages, how very dare they!!

We had to learn some pashto. And I speak Spanish to an intermediate level. So when I was in Majorca last year I spoke Spanish to the locals as much as I could.

Breks wrote:They where mocking it was obvious. My point is they are not real fans they have just jumped on they bandwagon and would drop City if we fell on hard times again.

phips wrote:Yes, yes you did. the nerve that gets irritated when people spout unfounded bullshit.
for starters, what if someone gets transferred to Manchester by their company and alot of their coworkers are City fans so this person now becomes a supporter of City.......fucking gloryhunter.
or, a guy marries a Mancunian who has been a City fan all her life (or any other gender pairing); thus, they become a City fan.....fucking glory hunter.
or, someone travels to Manchester for a few weeks and happens to find themselves in the Blue side and catches a few City matches on television at a local pub. when they go home they catch a few more and become a fan......fucking glory hunter.
now,
you must fell pretty damn insecure about your own relationship with the club if you feel the need to: A. create two separate, exclusive groups of supporters (pre and post-takeover) and B. call one good and one bad, whilst making sure you're firmly in the good group.
for those of us that didnt have the esteemed pleasure to be born and/or raised in Manchester we weren't subjected to City matches from an early age (barring something like have Mancunian parents etc). so you flip on the television and there's West Ham vs. Sunderland and its a dull 0-0 draw. no neutral wants to watch that. so you change it and see City winning; this is better. then next week you find City on television again. And again. And again. Now you're a fan.
Every fan wants their club to win and also gets pissed when they dont, regardless if your squad cost 1 billon, 200 million, or 1 million. complaining is simply a result of caring.
you claim to be a "true City fan"/pre-takeover fan becaue, what, youve seen City suck and struggle before and you stuck it out so now that City are doing well only fans like you should reap the rewards? how many shitty periods have their been since the takeover to test "the new fans'" allegiance? and so what if in 2 years City players have left and the squad now sucks (unlikely, but still) and fans leave? fans want to see winning....and the same goes for players.
Yaya, Silva, Aguero, Jovetic, Fern, etc. all came because they saw that (along with the big money) they had a chance to win trophies. if we dont win trophies over the next 2 years someone like Aguero will start listening to the Real Madrid talk. but that means we should slag off Aguero? not in my book.
how long youve been supporting a club is irrelevant; it doesnt make you any better or bigger of a fan.

Sister of fu wrote:On foreign fans my very favourite is Gringo Twatburger. For someone who lives in Florida I know for a fact he gets to more games than some that live 3 miles away from the ground. I for one can not wait to stand shoulder to shoulder with my American buddy at the Carling Cup final. He is a proper blue.
Gringo gets to more games than Ant London who must now be classed as a foreign fan/glory hunter.....
