They're worrying me, too. They have no CL fixtures to get in their way, home games against us and Chelsea to come - I'm assuming they'll win this one. If they win the other two, they'll not be far off. If we were to beat Barca and Chelsea in the FA Cup, would we start seeing weakened teams in the league?

It's nice out be going back on top today but it doesn't inspire confidence for our trip to anfield later in the season.

Have you stopped taking your meds? ;-)

I would prefer one of the other teams to take advantage of the scum dropping, but the Scouse are probably in a better position to keep them out for not just this season but for a while - would mean they strengthen considerably though but means we've got to keep battling at 1st/2nd and not rest on our laurels.

Yes Michael, nothing wrong with that. Except for the freekick he gave away.

Really hope Sturridge can carry this form into the world cup.
He's come along leaps and bounds this season.

I'll need meds if the Dippers win the league. I wonder if Michael Owen is secretly happy or secretly gutted today. It's no secret he is a terrible pundit.

Last week they played a poor WBA team and draw 1.1.Ok Kolo was a major culprit with that pass but the Pool were bang average that day frightened nobody.Today they have come out of the traps fast but their first 2 goals were set pieces and nowt special. They won't win the league.

I feel better now. No need to panic yet about the Dippers

They have fuck all to lose this season. Let's be honest, these sorts if games, and the derby, are their cup finals and the ones they'll raise their game for. Having said that, I'm not looking forward to playing there unless we have our full squad fit!

Haha - they're a long way from that mate, they will keep taking points of key teams but will also continue to trip up. I was thinking that id be happy with a point there but after their performance against the baggies it all depends which Scouse turns up on the day.

As for Owen, he sold his soul to the devil(worshipers) and is a scum - he conveniently signed away all recollection to the club that helped him with a football career in desperation to sign for the only club desperate to sign him on.

So I gether those of you who are warming up to shit your pants about Liverpool, will be the same ones who were on the Arsenal thread in November ?

Actually Arsenal are still above us when this game finishes.

What's the betting they find a way not to beat the rags though ?

Owen loves them & loves the rags. He is as low as it gets.

Dippers come out guns blazing. That's what we have to be aware of & do it to them. But we also need to score. We did to Chelsea what Liverpool did to Arsenal & missed. Had Liverpool not scored a couple, Arse's arse would have recovered a bit & this game would be in the balance.

Thankfully, they are still likely to mess up games like that. But if they get enough belief to raise their game against the smaller teams as well, they'll be a threat. By the end of today, they'll be 6 points behind us (hopefully) with us still to play at theirs and we've still got to go to Arsenal plus other tough away games.

Everyone will drop points before the end of the season, but no CL for Liverpool is a real advantage for them compared to City, Chelsea and Arsenal.

How was Sturridge not offside there? I can't see how that position doesn't affect the defence

The Dippers are good in big games. We will need to be aware from the off when we get there. Would be nice to have a fully fit team as we always seem to have players missing against Pool.
