Also, if it is really windy, Joe needs to make sure he doesn't let one of those keeper clearances go over his head and into the goal. Seems like those happen alot when it's really windy

Very good point.

I'd like to see Rodwell behind Toure in midfield, but I doubt that's going to happen. Jovetic really needs to step up tonight if he plays.

Jovetic needs to learn to fucking move once he's passed the ball and not stand there with that "I have no idea what to do now?" look on his face. Same problem Sami had when he joined, hopefully we won't need two years to get him out of that habit.

Yeah, he doesn't seem to be on the same wave length as the rest of the team at times. You'd have expected him to have built a better understanding by now despite his injury record. Struggling to see why we paid so much for him at the moment.

Yeah with all that game time he's had too he should definitely have adapted by now! It definitely didn't take Yaya and Silva a month of solid games, at least, to get to grip with the premier league's pace did it? Oh wait, it did...the 'what does yaya do?' thread springs to mind. Be bloody patient. Technical players always take a little time to adapt to the league but he'll come good.

Just threw SS on to be greeted with back-back defeats against Spurs and the Rags. Oh, and look who scores the last goal for Spurs, good old Gus Poyet.

It could be perceived that there was an agenda to keep the Rag hoards happy.

Navas usually keeps his crosses low. Don't think wind really is an issue in his case.

He's looked our most likely source of a goal in the last two games despite obviously not being in tune with his team mates. I think that look is just the way he looks.

All I expect is for him to move and not stand there like a statue. Not asking for him to be on the same wavelength, not asking for him to link up in intricate little one-two triangles through half a dozen defenders(although that would be nice), just move. The basics. Not a great deal to ask for IMO.

To be fair, Jovetic has looked pretty poor so far but like you say, it's only a matter of time. If he can stay fit he'll come good for us, just has he's shown in the past.

You mean those two games in which we scored how many goals? How many did we score prior to these two games? Don't paint a picture like that unless you want me to start pointing out coincidences.

Jovetic has done plenty of pass & move stuff, several of which would have resulted in him being clean through on goal if the people returning the pass hadn't hit it with a 1st touch like the Yorkshire Ripper.

MATCH FACTS
Head-to-head

•Manchester City were beaten 1-0 at the Stadium of Light earlier in the season, with Phil Bardsley scoring the winning goal.

•Sunderland have a poor record at Manchester City, failing to win away from home since 1998 - nine games without victory (L8 D1) Kevin Phillips scored the winner in a 1-0 win at Maine Road.

•Coincidentally, the 1997-98 season was the last time Sunderland did the double over City, Peter Reid's side making their league bow at the newly-built Stadium of Light with a 3-1 win.

Manchester City

•Manchester City have failed to score in successive league games for the first time this season. Their last run of three Premier League games without scoring was back in February-March 2008.

•It's a year since City last went three league matches without a win.

•Defeat by Chelsea in their last match at the Etihad Stadium ended a run of 11 consecutive home wins for Manchester City and 61 league games without failing to score at the Etihad.

•City are the division's top home goalscorers, with 42 goals in 12 games.

•Only Liverpool have scored the opening goal in games more frequently - 19 - to City and Arsenal's 18.

Sunderland

•Sunderland are unbeaten in their last six away matches in the league (W3, D3) - having earned only one point in their previous eight away games. They have never gone seven Premier League away matches unbeaten.

•The Black Cats have never won in the city of Manchester in the Premier League (D3, L18).

•Vito Mannone could become the first goalkeeper to keep two clean sheets against Manchester City this season.

•Former Manchester City winger Adam Johnson has been involved in a league-high eight goals so far in this calendar year (six goals, two assists).

Well according to the BBC while they only focused on the south (it is bad in know ..) the only mention Wales got was that it was the rain falling in Wales thats impacting the floods in the south ... So its all your fault ;-)

What's with all the weather presenters? If you don't know that it's going to be windy and raining in Manchester at this time a year then you've probably never been.

Didn't think Milner had that bad of a touch...

And Jovetic has been active in what I've seen, don't know what other people have been watching. A bit rusty, but ready to run at people and make things happen.

Prefer we get some of the harder fuckers out there to bang out a solid win in the wind. Early goal, followed by more goals while keeping it tight at the back would be wonderful.

COME ON CITY!

No wumming going on here, just not overly impressed by what I've seen so far and don't see him as a consistent goal scorer either, but hopefully I'll be proven wrong... starting tonight!

hahaha but I think I am going to bottle it tonight and stay at home.Just hearing there is an inspection at Stoke shortly to see if the game should go ahead. Not sure what exactly is inspected when the wind is the only problem.Maybe it will just come down to following police advice as to whether it's dangerous for fans getting to and from grounds.

I was going to use Metrolink which so far is still running but I fear it might just be a matter of time before something blows onto the line and stops everything.
