This has probably already been covered, but I want to moan.

Battled traffic and weather to get to the ground only for them to call it off.

Why was it left so late?? I was disappointed that they left it until 6.45.

I heard on talkshite that the decision was originally made at 5:40?
"If we fire our manager after just one bad season - We'll become Chelsea"
"If we think we can fix the problem by buying expensive players - We'll become City"
"If we remember the good times to entertain us during the bad times - We'll become Liverpool"

So, keep calm and do it the United way

"We invest in young players, That is what we are good at — we’re not like other clubs who can spend fortunes on proven goods. We know that Manchester City are going to pay stupid money, pay silly salaries and all that. We can’t do anything about it. We concentrate on what we can do to try to bring players in for the right reasons. We invest in those who will be with the club for a long time, who will create the character of the club, who will create excitement for our fans. We are very proud of that and we are going to continue that way" - Alex Ferguson 14th May 2012

Irresponsible arseholes, giving it every chance to see if the match could go ahead before cancelling and then cancelling on the grounds of supporter safety.

Fucking unforgivable.

Club texted me at 19.39 with confirmation.
Plenty of time to adjust plans and get a tidy curry while watching scum drawing a blank.
And get just a little bit giddy that mother nature had solved our fixture congestion issue.

I wish I had read this thread and not relied on the text I got off the club 2 minutes before kick off to tell me it had been postponed. I did wonder why the ground was so empty.

I fully understand why it was cancelled, i just don't know why it was left so late considering the wind was fucking awful all afternoon, and forecasts all said it would continue into the evening.

Grateful that when we play them again we may have our 4 goals a game form back and some key players back

traffic last night was horrific with the M60 being closed, the M6 was closed all surrounding routes were gridlocked. I was on the mancunian way when my lad say the tweet about the cancellation, I managed to get off at piccadilly and had to drive down all the back roads to get home as the A56 was at a standstill.

I saw 4 trees blown down on my way home, it was the right decision however, it literally calmed down and went away just after 8pm

I really need to get my helicopter licence

I agree.

If it's 'potentially' dangerous for people to travel & the authorities are advising people to try & avoid it,, they should just call it off immediately so that people don't travel, not wait for them all to travel, & then call it off.

What's worse than being hit by a tree on the way to a football match ? Being hit by a tree on the way to a football match that gets called off when you get halfway there, as could easily have happened to me, seeing as one tore apart ten yards away from me.

What a waste of concussion/death/broken arm that would have been, if I'd passed that spot 10 seconds later.

Ridiculous decision to leave it so late, especially for the travelling fans. It was clear at about 4-4:30 it wasn't going to change so they should have called it off then, rather than risk injury to fans having to drive and travel in dangerous conditions.

the game should have been called off the minute that the red warning was issued by the met office
ok, it was downgraded to amber a few hrs later but they knew at midday (if not before) that conditions were going to be atrocious
piss poor from all concerned
