I've warmed to wee davey already - watching him take what were last seasons league champs by a mile and turn them into a 2nd rate Everton has been a series of priceless comedy moments. I've never had so many laughs!
Well done moysie, you've done such a good job that the rags aren't even at the races anymore.
Just got to laugh eh? Ha ha ha ha!

I agree. I'm beginning to hope he picks up a few wins soon before the media turns on him completely. Fortunately they haven't yet.

But why aren't they? They've had AVB whilst they were in a similar position as last year, with all the changes.

For sure they should be. I think 3 things:

1) The papers really do have a pro British anti foreign agenda.
2) The papers have always loved Manchester United and don't want to jump onto them too fast
3) Moyes does have a 6 year contract and United have always appeared unwavering in their support, whereas other clubs don't tend to do that with their managers.

(3) might be the most important one to be fair. If they don't think he'll get sacked, they don't need to start going after him. The papers like getting managers sacked because it gives them more to write about.

This week though papers were just writing about how Moyes was so mean to them in press conferences (he ignored us! he only spoke 3 minutes! blabla). Not that I care about how Moyes treats journalists, but the more bad blood that gets in there the quicker the papers will be to ruin him.

Honestly I think its crucial United stick with Moyes as long as possible, I genuinely believe he can keep them at a level where they won't challenge for the league, but they will be able to qualify for CL keeping the Glazers happy. I really hope they turn into the new Arsenal, and Moyes could be perfect for that. But if they did sack him this season and get someone talented in, then they could put a side together to challenge us at the top again.

I reckon if Utd stick with Moyes it won't be long before the PL becomes a 2 horse affair, with us and Chelsea being the main challengers for the next few years. I hope so.

this depends on how Liverpool and Arsenal spend their money in the summer. Liverpool have certainly benefited from not having any European competition this year

I'm glad to see someone else with that opinion.

I was worried when Docherty became their manager, and he did pretty well, bouncing them out of Division II and getting them to Wembley twice and all that. Unlike Sir Baconface, he didn't need eight years of learning on the job because he was a far better manager.

Fortunately for us at the time, he couldn't keep it in his pocket.

And even more fortunately for us now, the days are long gone when the rags will take a mediocre manager and give him eight years to learn how to win stuff.

AVB took over from Saint 'Arry, who every journalist loves. He could have won the quadruple this season and some paper would have said 'Arry would have won it sober with more goals.

Moyes is the 'chosen one'. Slagging him off is therefore dangerous territory and I suspect many fear he won't last the season and would be replaced by Darth Taggart. Criticise the rags then that happens and your paper is watching games at the swamp via an internet stream.

If he lasts to the start of next season, I expect he'll get treated like the rest

I wasn't aware that the FA held the rights to Benny Hill.

How many seasons to go when the Scum (or their planted people from inside the FA/Premier League) will propose a championship style play-offs for the fourth place in the Champions League? Given that them hovering around 5-7 is more likely than them breaking into the top 4 ...

It would be only fair that such a play-off had a seeding system to help previous winners to qualify, say a goal start per CL final played in.
