If Reither, the clown hadn't conceded the penalty, they would have dropped 2 points against the worst side in the league and yet one penalty later, they are suddenly "title contenders"?! I think their ability to fuck up against the "easier" sides away is being under-estimated here. They raise their games against the stronger sides every time and that's what makes them look better than they really are.

Next season, they will either be in the CL or EL. Let's see how they cope up with almost 10 or so extra midweek games.

All of the top 4 except Arsenal seem to be prone to fucking up away to lesser sides.

Liverpool are a good team but it doesn't really matter to us. We are far enough ahead of them (5? if we win game in hand) that if Liverpool are able to catch us we've made enough mistakes for any of the other 3 sides to overtake us too.

It doesn't matter anymore how good the other contenders are, its completely down to us now.

It does if we lose or draw a couple, which is most likely going to happen, & one of those could be v Liverpool. We will most likely have winning periods & unbeaten runs, but we are not going to win every game, so we are relying on the likelihood that it's the same for the others too.

If we look at our typical performance over recent years, we drop points at Everton, Arsenal & Liverpool. & probably get 3 at the swamp.

We probably have to do better than that this year & also not fuck up at Palace & Hull. Last season, in late Jan onwards, we drew at QPR, lost at Southampton, Everton, Spurs, & drew at Swansea.

In this period of the title winning season, we lost at Everton, drew at Swansea & Stoke & lost at Arsenal. It was the Tevez inspired run at the death which rescued our title bid.

A typical, non Tevez recent City away sequence would most likely leave Liverpool all over us like a rash, especially if they were one of the teams who beat us.

We will have to be better in this period than in the previous two seasons imo.

The Sunderland, Cardiff and Villa happened a long time back, at a time when Pellegrini was moulding the team (not to mention the refereeing howlers against Sunderland and Villa). Since Sunderland, I think we've won all games in the PL except away draws to Southampton and Norwich and defeat to Chelsea. Outside the PL, there was a draw against Blackburn and that's it. That also includes a win against Bayern away.

The Chelsea and Norwich came when Aguero, Negredo, Fernandinho, Milner, Nasri all were unfit/injured. That's atleast 4 players who were in-form before injury and first team regulars as well as Milner who also contributes regularly as a squad player. Would Liverpool be able to handle an injury to Suarez and Sturridge at the same time?

We also have a proven ability to fuck up v the 'easier' sides, as do Chelsea.

Not in recent weeks except the Norwich one.

They are a threat as they get rest periods, we seem to be happy about after last night, keeping the front injury free they will be at it until the final weeks like us.

For me the key is simple. When we get Aguero back fit, does he stay fit.I'm just prayin because he's starting to look vulnerable to similar kinds of injury which may be related to his high tempo style, particularly in this climate.As for Liverpool, they are imo our biggest rivals. But their defence looks weak, all five of them including the goalie. Mf and strikers a match for anyone.

I believe that they are a big threat, and they certainly have an easier end to the season than we do. My feeling is that we might only take four or five points from the games at Arse, Everton, Rags and their place. Hope I'm wrong.

Probably a pipe dream but Im hoping that we will have a lot more breathing room by the time we get to anfield. The postponement was a godsend and we have been lucky this season.

This is how I see the run-in ... League positions 1 & 2 will be between us and Chelsea, 3 & 4 will be between Arsenal and Liverpool, 5 & 6 will be between Spurs and Everton, 7 will be Scum and 8 & 9 will be between Newcastle and Southampton ...

I don't see any upsets in these slots ... e.g. don't see Spurs or Everton finishing in the top 4, but also don't see them below 6th ... don't see Arsenal in top 2, but also do to see them below 4th ... similarly Liverpool will be fighting out the 3rd spot with Arsenal and that's about it (and in my opinion might as well get it) ...

The only remote possibility is Newcastle or Southampton really going on a run and Scum having a few more stumbles (maybe even deliberately to avoid Europa) and thus finishing even lower than 7th.
