Doesn't it belong to Manchester University? Presume they'll get the land back with some nice buildings they can use.

Going to be interesting to see if they up the away allocation, the rags dont do it.

We don't need to. However if we are failing to sell out we could.
I think its 10% of capacity up to 3,000

and I quote:
In terms of away supporters, they will continue to be segregated in the south stand in
the lower and mid tiers. For a fully expanded stadium, there will be 9325 seats
available for away supporters – 2524 seats in the lower tier, 1990 split over the club
and box tiers with the remainder in the upper tier. Should the south stand only be
expanded, there will be 8088 seats provided, 2072 seats in the lower tier and 1572
split over the club and box tiers with the balance in the upper tier

There is room around the side of the pitch for the extra couple of rows that will be needed to put in another 2,000. I believe they will lower the pitch so that the new seats can be on a slope. Before we moved in, the third tier was the second tier as the "pitch" was considerably larger, and at a higher lever, covering what is now the first tier.

That not far off...

stepping the new rows down below the current ground level"

That does not stack up at all. If we only increase the South Stand, it will add on an extra 6,000 seats approx and we are going to give 5,000 of them to away fans?
I fully expect the away allocation to remain the same as long as we can move the extra tickets.

None of the women's teams over here have their own stadium. Mainly because attendance is poor and because we are on our fourth league in 15 years.

That's bizarre then, as there is no way on earth that will be happening. We have been selling places on a waiting list for those seats & already have more than 5k on it. Can't charge £100 & then tell people they have no seat.
Perhaps it's the total that 'can' be made available if we choose, as for Cup games etc ?

why are you assuming that the waiting list is for "those seats". It isn't
