And therefore ?

There is a reason he has been 'Arbeitslos' for the last two years and it wasn't because he was waiting for a Plum job in the PL.

As a manager, he did reside over a successful team to win the BL double, but Bayern have been dominant for so long now , even a Spaniard could probably do this !

He has a reputation for good organisation and is like Gollum in this respect, but as we have seen at Everton, the ability to build success needs something extra ( which Martinez is bringing).

If he is able to keep them up and with funds thereafter he might still be around.

Then again, he is 60 or thereabouts so it could be a good way to top up his pension.

Magath was around for a while, so clearly Fulham are panicking.

Some more gems I found:

"While in charge of Wolfsburg during a training camp in July 2008 in Switzerland Magath declared after a team lunch that training would be canceled for the day. Instead the players would be rewarded with coffee and cake at a nearby location with the provision that the players retain their training attire just in case. As the players prepared to board the gondola that took them up the mountain to the coffee house their delight was soon replaced with horror as Magath told them they would get there by running the full 2362 meters. They ran for two and a half hours straight up the hill with Magath running right behind the team. Their star striker Grafite collapsed before the end and had to be carried down the valley on a stretcher while other players broke down in tears as they reached the summit where they were finally able to enjoy their coffee and cake."

Felix Magath also reportedly fined Ivan Rakitić €10,000 for switching positions with a team-mate, which Magath didn't allow. #FFC

Just a little heads up, Big Ed had his best spell as a player under Magath.

He won the league with Wolfsburg scoring 3.5 goals per game. Big Ed and Grafite were the stars in that team + he managed Bayern.

On the downside, Magath has a problem, he will change the whole squad at Fulham if he stays. He did that everywhere, from Schalke, Hamburg or Wolfsburg.

Must be what Dzeko needs: mountains, cakes and coffee.

New bloke has his managerial career in Germany with some lesser profile teams except two spells at Wolfsburg. Hasn't managed anywhere for two years from what I can see? Be honest, anyone ever heard of Felix Magath before today?

They've also got curbishley as their director of football apparently?

I've heard of him from Football Manager, I did a game as Wolfsburg a while ago.
