I hope Pellegrini saw that and keeps Demich on the bench. Pellegrini looks to have learned his lesson after the 0-1 league loss. we out-"tacticed" them this match. Garcia and Yaya utterly wrecked Matic and Mikel. last time, Matic was equal to Yaya. great to have Samir back. he looks a little out of shape and a tad rusty but the 35 mins today will do wonders for him going forward. Silva's willingness to track back was impressive but not only that, he actually did well defensively. willingness is one thing but ability is another. best match we've played all season imo.
A tactical masterclass from Manuel Pellegrini ! !!!!

Love how we play that music, must piss Chelsea fans off

What did they play? Don't they still end matches with the "CITY, Manchester City" song?

It would have been One Step Beyond by madness I'd guess. Its what the chavvy cunts play at their craptastic stadium when they win there.

Yaya really good as well and along with Silva if those 2 play well so do City. Can't really fault anyone today just a quality team performance.

I think you summed it up nicely Doug. So many positives tonight. Lescott and Garcia were great (Garcia probably playing his best match for us ever), Jovetic scoring an important goal which will do wonders for his confidence, Nasri coming back and scoring, Yaya was at his imposing best. Can't fault any performance today. They were all great. And Pellers had all the right answers for the spastic one and the personal victory for him was the cherry on top.
Happy days are here again !

Agree. Whole team excellent though and I thought it was Clichy's best game in ages.

For the record I would like to say a big fuck you to the commentator that mixed up his words and ended up saying something along the lines of "every guy out there wearing that [strike]shit[/strike] shirt has run themselves into the ground"

Although I did laugh lol.

We scored first...... If we had done this first game we might have won. Today we did win. In the context of an individual game this can be down to luck, or chance, but over a season it's not.

Just got back from the Etihad . Agree with with the posters who highlight Pellegrini,s tactics today ....... totally outdone the Portuguese egotistic gobshite ....... 10/10 the Engineer just had his finest hour over Maureen ;-)

Although high in numbers the chav rent boys were very very quiet today aswell ........ fancy paying top top dollar to watch that shit week in week out ????? lol

Garcia had his best game yet in a city shirt , he stopped absolutely everything today , brilliant . Siva and Nasri linked up beautifully when together again , boy how we have missed that recently . Awesome performance and result oh and Lescott and Kompany were supreme at the back , why oh why were they ever split up ????????

Depends on your point of view. I think it wasn't luck, and we deserved it, but ... that judgement only possible in hindsight. I think that if we had scored first last week we would have won but we didn't and after 90 mins it was clear Chelsea were better team. As such you could also argue we were unlucky that Monday but lucky tonight. I know that might sound bollocks but guess the point I really want to make is that over a season things even out.

The only negative for me tonight was our goalie. He obviously does nt want to play football. He stood on his own for 90 minutes and showed no signs of joining in. The other lads played away quite happily in the other half whilst Pants just stood there. I can only assume he was sulking.

In all seriousness, and I think I say this every game, I still prefer him to joe hart.

If a mistake is always deliberate then you are spot on. But I don't think they are always deliberate, and not all mistakes have the same consequence, so I think you have to account for luck in a single 90 minute game.
