Carl's not available, so I'm deputising

LESCOTT'S A FUCKING USELESS FUCKING LIABILITY FUCKING CUNT.

I myself go with the general view, but don't think Pellers ever will

At the start of a season, you can play about with new partnerships and hope they develop for the future. At this stage, we just need results, not to build for next season.

If he plays Lescott and Kompany every game, I'd predict we'd have the best defensive record in the league by May, enough to win us the league. And I don't think it'd cost us in any of the cups, even the CL.

Very good point that Kompany plays better when partnered with Lescott, I don't believe it is a coincidence that Kompany was the FAPL player of the season when partnered regularly with Lescott and that he was relatively average last season when Lescott fell out of favour.

Good to see most people are in agreement about Lescott now. Our second best defender and should be playing week in week out.

Don't want get too caught up in the whole lescott debate but for those who said he can't pass the ball yesterday was clear proof if needed of why you are wrong. Would love to see his match stats.

No coincidence that it was comfortably our best defensive performance of the season by a long way. Doesn't get any better than a clean sheet and no attempts on goal. Stating the obvious I know but I have seen a team have no attempts on goal and still beat us 1-0. Boro, Sun Jihai og.

Bolton as well, Dunne giving away a penalty with the stupidest of hand balls late on.

So who should be our number one target for centre half this summer?

I think Subotic but his teammate Hummels is probably more Pellers style.

That was the best defensive display by a City team under Pellegrini.

It reminded me of the night we needed to beat the rags, in the title winning season, & we just crushed them. But this was done with much more of an attacking threat . Chelsea were lucky not to concede more.

How the fuck Demi and Nasti get a game in front of him amazes me. Earlier in the season some were saying that Pellers was playing Demi before Lescott due the fact that he was a right-footer and he could cover the RCB position better. I understand that but to then keep him playing at the LCB position when we have a natural left-sided player is a bit confusing.

Pellers obviously wants his man on the pitch and it's good that he feels that he can trust him but at the same time, for me, it's a blindness that has to be sorted.

Lescott was outstanding and so was Kompany. The Vinnie Lescott lobby proved resoundingly right. They must play together on Tuesday. End of. I also thought both full backs were very good. Clichy is playing much better and Zaba was miles better than the last time. Stick with that back four. I do think that mention should be made of Garcia. He's had a very difficult time adjusting to the Premier league but he was first class last night and showed us what the scouts saw in him. He allowed Yaya to give his best. Marauding forward he was unstoppable but he also performed well defensively which hasn't always been the case. Tuesday will be a huge test but if we defend as well as that we have a decent chance of a clean sheet in the first leg and not conceding at home is half the job. We're well capable of scoring one or two at the Neu Camp and by then Sergio and Fernandinho will be back.

The thing is, Garcia, as mentioned on the other thread, has started to look a player recently, but look how long it has taken (for those of us with a clue, that is) & we still don't know for sure if it will continue.

Imagine we sign the world's best centre back, & he starts playing in the Prem, & he finds it a bit difficult.

Hey presto; Nastasic & Demichelis. Off we go again.

Just give Lescott a short term contract ffs.

I was there. Came from their goalkick at the end of the match. Incredible City!

Lescott was excellent.

But more importantly

Kompany feels more comfortable with him at his side. WHy can't Pelligrini see this!?!?

Lescott's interview after the game was just very sad. A player we all feel is the best partner for Vinnie leaving the club when he clearly doesn't want to, lets hope the Count has a change of heart!
It may be my last year as a season ticket holder as it just doesn't seem the same with so few English and local players (but I said that last year)
