Man Of The Match v Barca

Postby Beefymcfc » Tue Feb 18, 2014 7:13 pm

Here we go, the first in-play MotM (Man of the Minute/Match) thread where you have the chance to pontificate about the excellent touch, the running into space, the goal of the century or anything else that our players have done during the game.

You can change your vote as often as you want and if you feel you've got something good to say about a player, just let it out ;-)

PS. I've only set it up now because I'm hoping I'll be too delirius with joy later ;-)
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

Silva for me. He shows he's just as good if not better than his compatriots.

I think the manager has it bout right so far.Assuming we can keep the discipline going for the whole game and he gets the subs right we might just nick this.

I don't know if he is too smart player for me (and he's looking for pass angles etc I can't see) but I've noticed him hiding behind Barca players quite often today when our players need some players making themselves available

Indeed. Im very happy with his approach with Dortmund, Bayern and Napoli in short memory.

He still created more than anyone else. His turn and pass to Neggers was class.

I'll stick with Silva, but both Yaya and Fernadinho were monsters tonight.

Kompany.

Shame he had to play aside MD.
You have to question why he made that challenge. He's an experienced player, he was never catching him and would have been far better letting him run through one on one then doing what he did.

Kompany was badly out of position, 5 yards behind the line which allowed Messi the run onside. Had Kompany been up with the defensive line, the pass would have bounced off his legs.

He had a good game aside from that, but he can't absolve himself from responsibility for their first goal.

Are you saying that Kompany got Demi a red? Some were condemming Lescott for getting Kompany a yellow yet Vinnie's getting voyes for MotM?

Pellers and Demi for me, they can hold hands walking out of the stadium.

I can only speak for myself but i'm guessing that what both of us are getting at is that kompany created the situation. Demi's challenge was an idiot one but the whole scenario wouldn't have happened had kompany not cancelled out the offside.

Plus that's quite romantic of you.
