Great effort by the lads. Only got ten good enough at this stage of our development. We knew Demichellis was the weak link but I think we saw Joleon would have been no better. The Kolarov tactic clearly worked in stopping Alves and no doubt Nasri would have replaced him later if still drawing. They are well beatable defensively but unfortunately the failure to buy a decent centre back came to haunt us.Still looking forwards to the Barca trip, we've got nothing to lose and everything to gain. And we can concentrate on whats winnable, the other three, and make sure we buy appropriately in the summer.A lot to be proud of tonight.Dave, Ya Ya and Vince showed themselves to be 3 of the world's best.

Demi fucked up, which I was expecting one way or another, but what can you do when it looks like a foul on Navas which isn't given, then you're holding the line and then Vinnie plays him onside. He then tries to stick a foot and even though a red, it was outside the box and should've been a freekick. Personally I though Demi played pretty shit but for the penalty there was a number of factors that compounded the problem in that instance.

I fucking hate Barca though, they fuck me right off. They fall to the floor like gimps going down on a swollen cock. Then, they expect every single call in their favour and as per UEFA rules, they get it. We stopped everything they through at us and we left them impotent, even after the sending off. It was only in the last few minutes, when the lads looked out on their feet, that they used the advantage.

Well played by the majority of our players and the can hold their heads high. I suppose some will say that Demi shouldn't have played but that's the way it is, the manager picks his players and you've got to expect them to play to their best. It didn't happen in some instances and it cost us the game and maybe if we'd continued our normal attacking game we could have gone on to score 6, but then again we could've conceded the game.

There is no doubt that Demich fouled messi.
Yes,it was outside the box, the ref pulled the red card all too easily. It wasn't as if Demich was being malicious or whatever. Free kick, at worse a Penalty, but never, ever a sending off offense. He was going for the ball, not trying to take the man out. Poor refereeing.

Mate it's last man, clearly denying a goal scoring opportunity. Agree with it or not, the rules of the game dictate that to be a red card. It's not about malice or not. Similar to Rose's sending off a few weeks back.

Soon as I saw that clown DIMechellis name on the team sheet, I said to my lad we are going to lose tonight because that cunt will definitely cost us at some point in this game, he was fucking raped by Chelsea in the league game, so what do we go and do, we put him up against Messi and co.Fucking mind bogglingly stupid, stupid,STUPID !!!!

What the fuck does Pellegrini see in that Clown ?,I am being serious, what the fuck does he have that I am missing here ?slow as fuck, forever lunging in with stupid tackles ,for ever caught out of position ,he cant even be arsed tracking back, the list is fucking endless.

Gutted, really gutted. I don't even think Barcelona are that special. I think the defeat was 100% self inflicted with Pellegrini team selection. Wish we had played our normal game from the start. DIMechellis shouldn't have been on the pitch, it was the difference between success and failure tonight.

I thought even after that Clown was sent off we were in with a chance, we played like warriors. I thought Jovetic should have come on instead of Dzeko though.

Also would have been nice if Joe had not come out with his legs open wider than a prostitute on over time and invite the easy second goal, I fear that was the killer goal and has now probably put the tie out of reach for us.

At least DIMechellis wont be available for the second leg so we can start with 11 players.

Id love nasri to start but was he ready tonight? Who? Milner? Not sold on that here. What tactics should we have employed? I get pellers concept. Players familiar with barca. We didnt get killed so thats an improvement but i dunno if we could have done much better with what we have.

agreed. Doom your naive.

I for one am very proud if the boys. I Chuffin hate the way Barca play and I thought we played the most exciting football. One goal and we would have had them rattled. I even think that being written off for the second leg may work on our favour. Shackles off. Full on attack!! Robbie twat savage reckons we have nil chance. Choice cock. We are City. We don't do things the normal way. CTID

In the Middle East, gray's opening comment was that Demichelis had no right to be on the pitch with these players tonight. Spot fucking on

Possibly the first thing me and Andy have ever agreed on.

I've seen it live and then the replay. To me it looks like Navas realises he's not gonna beat two men so tries to buy the free kick. No doubt Barca would have been awarded that if it were Messi but in the normal rules of the game that's not a foul imo.

Don't come with that last man crap. I've seen those tackles waved 'play on ', many many times.

Oh it's Messi ? We aren't allowed to go near him ?

Yes, it way a foul , but a red card ? No way.

A yellow at most .

I think City invited that result. They gave too much respect from the start and only really showed what they are capable of when 0-1 and down to 10.
If they had fought for each ball from the off Barca would have shrank like they did v Bayern last year.

City are capable enough, not sure they yet believe themselves.

0-2 at half time.

Time to get serious and stop pussy footing around and go and surprise them with some fast direct play in their own gaff as though they are not even on the pitch.

Bayern did it and so can City.

Fucking hell, Didi Hamman fucking hates us doesn't he. I've never agreed with him on near enough anything he's said when punditing against us but the anger he's just spewed was an eye-opener. Pellers had a bit of a pop at the referee, saying that he was wrong with the Navas foul, wrong with the penalty and mentioned that it was a bit iffy that that ref was called out by Barca last season for not giving them a number of calls. Didi then hits back at Pellers, annoyed, as if to say 'What does he know because I've already said he's wrong', before saying we were completely lucky as Barva far and away outplayed us.

I'm still waiting for the voice of City on the TV but I can't see the likes of Sky having Buzzer on again. He might just remind them of that well explained prediction and make them look the cunts they are.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

FFS mate. Was it a last man challenge? YES. Was it denying a clear goal scoring opportunity? YES. RED CARD.61
Sending-Off Offences
T
here are seven offences for which a
player, substitute
or substituted player
can be sent off and shown the
red card if he:
1.
is guilty of serious foul play
2.
is guilty of violent conduct
3.
spits at an opponent or at any other person
4.
denies the opposing team a goal or an obvious goal-
scoring opportunity by deliberately handling the ball
(this does not apply to a goalkeeper within his own
penalty area)
5.
denies an obvious goal-scoring opportunity to an
opponent moving towards the player’s goal by an
offence punishable by a free kick or a penalty kick

6.
uses offensive or insulting or abusive language and/or
gestures
7.
receives a second caution in the same match

Do you think Rose's red card was unfair then? Or how about Evan's red card in the 6-1?
How the fuck could he 'play on'? He took Messi out, there was no advantage to 'play on'.
