ITV And Their Hatred Of City

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

ITV And Their Hatred Of City

Postby zabbadabbado » Wed Feb 19, 2014 1:28 am

Where does it stem from ? have just watched the recorded game in full after getting home.

I am taken aback with the hatred they all have for City, the constant sly nasty little digs, the back handed comments, their blatant hatred off us is so very transparent. Not just in the Studio either, it comes through even in the commentary there is an obvious agenda, every obvious 50/50 becomes a City foul, every contentious talking point becomes one sided, the disputed penalty becomes a clear Barcelona penalty. They are barely able to conceal their collective excitement, and sheer contempt for us at the final whistel, with their anticipation of our imminent exit from the Champions League.

Never before have I watched an English Club playing in the Champions League in Europe be treated so despicably by an English Television Channel. I am utterly and truly shocked.

Cant help feeling there is something very sinister going on here. For me It was not a coincidence either that they aired not one single City Group game.

Is it because we have Arab owners that we are despised so much by the English Media ?.

And to top all that they are absolutely shite at presenting football.

They do seem to dislike us, don't they. Last night should've been about Man City in Europe, nor Barcelona at the Etihad. It's always the same though with them, no matter what competition it is. If it's an underdog then it's all about how they can cause an upset and when it's one of the top sides it's all about us not having the history (mentioned again and again last night).

Spineless fuckers, the lot of them and like has been said, there does seem to be some sort of concerted effort to play our club down.
In the words of my Old Man, "Life will never be the same without Man City, so get it in while you can".

It's ok lads, they have lost the rights to the CL so feel happy in the thought that while they get there jibes in now, they will all be out of work soon.

Were they really that bad? thought Martinez spoke a bit of sense, and keane was mildly complimentary, well for him anyway.
As for the two spanners commentating, awful, and why was that prick boorhinio featured? like what the fuck, can there not be any game without that clown being dragged into it for his 'opinions' by the media.

Not seen last nights version but it really ticked me off when I watched the Chelsea show after the game.
Before the match Keane was laying into Pellegrini for picking a weakened team! He kept repeating this.
I was dying for someone to ask him exactly who did he think would have strengthened it as I'm sure he had his arse round his elbows in terms of our injury list.

About 10 mins in to the game Tyler "We have to remember City are supposed to be the home team here". Yes Barca had a little posession but fuck me they hadn't had a shot at goal. Made out we were getting battered from the off.

I noticed that, the ball was in the middle of the park, they kept hold of it well but couldn't do anything with it yet he continued to cream himself over every average pass they made as if they were deities.

What also got me was when they were saying that Silva was our one outlet that could potentially create a chance on goal.

Not just the TV company - there is general media bias.

On the way into breakfast at ny Liverpool hotel I saw the chap in front of me was reading the back page of a red top - Mirror I think. T large font was something like\;

Best team in the world 0 - Worst Barca team for many years 2.

Clearly a big attack and wallowing in our loss. This quadruple amd best team stuff does not come from CITY or the fans - it has been purely medioa ivwnted hype - so they can then bring us down when we are out of a comp.

Clear hatred

It was unprofessional, populist and partial from ITV, as per usual. "Partial" I don't mind, but when you are aiming your commentary at a predominantly English audience, it is staggering to find such levels of bias aimed against the English side. Imagine the outcry if they did the same when the Rags, Liverpool or dear old Arsenal were playing.

I found myself snapping away at Tyldesley again and again as he trotted out the usual anti-City cliches and weak generalisations. The fact is that ITV, and Tyler over on Sky, are only happy when pontificating about their Raggy heroes. It even permeates the FIFA video games ("City, living in the shadow of their neighbours, United"; "City's new found money", etc etc.

Tyldesley will be commentating again on one of the Europa League matches on Thursday, and you can bet your last pound that he won't find anything like the kind of negativity about the English team that he did last night.

Bluemoon need to get Tyldesley off their podcasts, too.

I really didn't think they were that anti City. just wanking over Barca all the time. It's like someone said, typical itv popularist rubbish, just like they do with the rags. They should stick to Jeremy Kyle.

the bias is unbelievable, sly digs anti city comment, i dont know why were surprised anymore ,tyldesley a passionate rag was willing us to lose.whatever we achieve will be swept under the carpet, and they will revel in our defeats. and the pundits in the studio martinez being an exeption all up uniteds arse. nobody on tv really criticises rags , you would love to be in the studio like summerbee was and put them all straight but it will never happen.scum were playing blackburn the season we won the league, scum lost 3-2 the guy on 5 live said who was the last team to score 3 at old trafford you have to go back a long time, his co presenter said i can remember the last team to score 6 here but we dont want to talk about that.

saying that barca was "bossing" the first half was fucking laughable. if anything, we looked the more likely to score throughout.

But that's what they all go on about with Barca, just keep wanking over them endlessly passing it around in midfield.

Apart from the usual bollox from Tyler I don't think they were particularly bias against us. There is no dispute about the pen either, they were correct!

Another pundit not happy with us - get in line Keys.

Renowned football pundit calls for Europe's governing body to throw the book at Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini.

While Manchester City supporters may feel aggrieved this morning, cheated even, after referee Jonas Eriksson awarded Barcelona a dubious penalty when Lionel Messi was brought down by centre back Martin Demichelis in an incident in the 54th minute that appeared to begin outside the area when the two giants of European football competed at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday evening, there has since been clarity over the issue.

La Liga expert Guillem Balague, author of the recently-published Messi, took to his official social media account to explain the awarding of the spot-kick, which resulted in the first of Barcelona's two goals in a match where City returned a nil score.

Manuel Pellegrini was outraged at the officiating of the match, a game which is, most likely, now beyond them as the club are charged with the task of overturning the deficit at Camp Nou: 'I have a complaint,' Pellegrini is quoted by Sky Sports to have said. 'Not only for the penalty and red card but the whole match we did not have a referee with impartiality to both teams.'

Pellegrini's outburst has not sat well with pundits, in particular Richard Keys, who blogged on his official website today: 'Pelligrini can kick and scream as much as he likes. The allegation that ref Jonas Eriksson somehow cheated his team because of previous indiscretions towards Barcelona is both puerile and futile.

'I hope UEFA hit him hard as a result. The only person to blame for the 0-2 defeat to Barcelona is Pelligrini himself.'

Keys continued: 'City and their fans were full of bravado. 'We'll take them on and beat them. No-one can deal with Toure'. Really?

'And as for the suggestion 'if you're going to win it you have to beat everybody anyway'. Nonsense. Not if somebody else beats them. Nobody is playing Munich if Arsenal see them off. So winning the group did matter. And the reality of not doing so has come back to bite them.'
