The week leading up to this game is international week. All of our players are away. Fern is playing on Wednesday night in South Africa so won't be back until Thursday/ Friday for e.g. Maybe playing on the Saturday was a bit soon anyway. I know it will be our second string largely against the Pies but many of them are away too.

It's a full 72 hours rest. That's enough. I really don't think playing 24 hours earlier would increase our chances in any way really.

Dont think there is a conspiracy here. Clearly arse v everton is the prime game followed by Sheffield derby. This limits the tv coverage somewhat. Play on Sunday and Wednesday? We are fighting trophies on four corners. This comes with the territory. We'd best get used to it

Pretty much. only 5 years ago we'd be out of both domestic trophies and nothing to play for.
It's a price that comes with success and I'm more than happy to pay it.
I'm also happy as it gives me and millions others a chance to watch the match with a good picture when they otherwise wouldn't be able to.

It's a shame the footballing authorities aren't doing all they can to give us the best chance of resting up to try and get through. Who is to say we won't pick up knocks in the Wigan game that may need an extra 24 hours rest? I just think the FA are a joke and all they care about is money. Tail wags the dog as far as the fa and tv revenue goes.
